LJ University, Ahmedabad Gujarat was established in the year 1980 as Private University Educational Institute to provide higher education to build a career in the field of Engineering, Management and Science. LJ University is approved by the reputed BCI, AICTE, UGC, NCTE, PCI, INC, MCI, DCI and DSIR, and is accredited by NAAC-B++. Management of LJ University, Ahmedabad is working under Prof. B. M. LJ University also known as Lok Jagruti University is one of the finest institutions of Ahmedabad. The LJ University Ahmedabad is into existence since 1980 and to date has produced some of the finest skilled professionals. The university is managed by a popular trust called Lok Jagruti Kendra. The current president of the university is Prof. B. M. Peerzada. The University’s main campus is located at S.G. Road which is one of the most developed areas of Ahmedabad. The University offers various UG, PG and research type courses in various disciplines such as computer application, human resources, applied science, pharmacy, and engineering to name a few. Some of the courses offered by the university are MBA, B.Pharma, B.Sc, B.Arch and B. Tech, to name a few. The campus is spread in 11 acres and has one of the best academic atmospheres as students here are always involved with something or the other.
The university doesn’t just believe in making students academically strong but also believes in making students aware of their social responsibilities. Many social activities are carried out by the university all year long. Through one of its programs called LJ Sahyog, the university helped around 250 villages of Gujarat and developed FB pages and Websites so that people of India can know about them. LJ University is also one of the prime centres of various prestigious exams like GATE, BITS PILANI, AIEEE, GUJCET, and CAT, to name a few. One of the main initiatives that the university has taken is that every year at least 1% of their graduate becomes job creators. For this to happen, the university has set-up one of the largest Business Incubator through which the university support, promote, and encourage student’s ideas by making them meet angel investors and national level syndicates for funding.
Students who wish to apply for LJ University courses at LJ always have the option available for the online or the offline method. The deadlines of submitting LJ University application form are mentioned on their site and students can fill and submit the form before the due date. LJ University admissions aren’t easy as they have their own entrance and for some of the courses they accept leading exams scores like CAT, JEE mains, GUJCET, MAT, and more. LJ University admissions are straight forward if one fits in the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria of some of the decorated courses of the university are as follows:
B. Arch – 12th Pass in any discipline with 50% or more and entrance score of National Aptitude Test in Architecture. For reserved category students 45% or more is enough to apply but entrance scores are must.
B. Des – 12th Pass with 50% in any discipline be it Science, Commerce, or Arts. Along with that, LJSD B.Design Entrance Exam scores are also considered.
B.M.C – 12th Pass in any discipline and a personal interview.
MBA – Graduate degree with 50% minimum marks for general category students and 45% for the reserved category students. Besides that CAT & MAT scores decides whether or not the students are eligible or not.
BBA+MBA – For this integrated course of 4 years, 12th pass with a minimum of 60% and scores of LJMAT.
For other courses like simple BBA or BSc, the admissions are given on merit list which is based on 12th percentage.
One thing in which LJ University has never taken a step back is providing scholarships to their students. Over 10 schemes of scholarships are run by them and every one be it minority religious scholarships, scholarships for reserved category, or the ones who tops the merit list, every one is taken care of through LJ University scholarship programs. Scholarship doesn’t just reduce the financial burdens from students’ shoulders but also motivates them to give them their 200%. One of the major scholarships offered by the university is Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana.
Students scoring 80% or more in 10th or 12th for enrolling in Diploma or UG courses are offered scholarships as per the State Government guidelines. For minorities, National Scholarship Scheme for Minority is applicable as students from minority community can apply for this scholarship. Apart from that Chief Minister Scholar Scheme are also available at LJ University. Through CMSS, scholarships to students who are Sharmik Card Holder, or who are orphans are awarded scholarships up to 100%.

LJ University placements have made a lot of noise as the university invites many leading firms like TCS, Infosys, Reliance, IBM, Adani Group and many more. The placement may not be 100% but the Placement cell of the LJ University Ahmedabad provides 100% assistance and support. They do their bit to make sure that students of the university are able to get an able job in some of the leading industries. Training of LJ students starts from 1st year and the students have to go through rigorous training as long as they study at the university.
For engineering and management students over 100 company visits are arranged and that is why the university has 95% placement record combining both these schools. The other colleges are not far behind though as equal assistance and training are given to them too and LJ students today are working with some of the leading companies of India and abroad. Some of the things that placement cell makes the students practice hard and long is mock interviews, and mock aptitude tests. Techniques such as industry visits and lectures by industry experts are organized at the campus so that the gap between the industry practice and academic offerings are reduced.
LJ University campus is small but has every small and big facilities. Well, the only thing that they miss is a hostel facility as otherwise there’s nothing that is missing from the campus. There are a total of 22 faculties that are running at the LJ University campus. There are three auditoriums at the campus as one is at the engineering department, one at pharma, and one for MBA department.
The other departments also use any of the auditorium. The university library is huge and engineering students have an added advantage as they have their own library too. There is a huge playground right in front of the main building and many sports activities take place there. There are three canteens in all at the LJ Campus as one is the central canteen of the campus. There is a tea refreshment stall and a Chinese food corner too.
