According to the reports of media outlets, the WBJEE results 2025 that were supposed to be released today i.e. 7<sup>th<\/sup> August, 2025 are deferred again. Moreover, the Principle Secretary of High Education, West Bengal has been summoned to appear at the court in order to clarify the state\u2019s stand.<\/p>\n<p>The reason for this delay is ongoing proceedings at Calcutta High Court against West Bengal Government, WBJEEB, and other parties about the revised list of Other Backward Classes (OBC) sub-castes. The court proceedings were started after a petition filled by the candidates. According to the new reports, Calcutta High Court Justice Kaushik Chanda initiated the \u2018Suo Motu\u2019 contempt after receiving a complaint via mail from merit-listed candidates in the JEMAS-PG (Medical postgraduate) exam and from the WBJEEB board itself.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the court has questioned the Government\u2019s decision about the OBC reservation list. As per the media reports, the State Government has violated the court\u2019s order from last year about the same, especially when the Supreme Court has not put any stay on that order.<\/p>\n<p>During the previous hearing, due to lack of proper justification, the court overruled the inclusion of 77 candidates. The board was asked to withhold the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.collegebatch.com\/exams\/wbjee-result\">WBJEE results 2025<\/a> and further activities till the matter was resolved. Now, the board and over 1 Lakh students are waiting for the final decision of the court&#8217;s Division Bench.<\/p>\n<p><strong>6<sup>th<\/sup> August 2025: <\/strong>The State HC initiated further court proceedings against the West Bengal Government and WBJEEB.<\/p>\n<p><strong>28<sup>th<\/sup> July, 2025: <\/strong>After a few days, the Supreme Court lifted the stay over the implication of OBC reservation list.<\/p>\n<p><strong>17<sup>th<\/sup> June, 2025:<\/strong> Following this, Calcutta High Court put an interim stay order over this list.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10<sup>th<\/sup> June, 2025: <\/strong>Government of West Bengal presented the updated list of OBC reservation with 140 sub-categories to the State Assembly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>May 2024: <\/strong>State High Court cancelled OBC reservation certificate provided to 77 communities since 2010.
