Christ University MBA Review By Narpat Rathore

If you want to do MBA from Bangalore then after IIM, Christ is the one. The University is probably the one that has caught the attention of students from all across the country and some foreign students too join this University. The college is strict and keeps it simple and straight that there are some rules in place. If you obey them you can have the best time at the college but if you don’t then the college will make your life hell. Christ University MBA Admission is done by conducting an eligibility test and then GD & PI and after clearing in all three parameters you will have an opportunity to be a part of the University. The ratio is 1:20 or maybe more. All the facilities at the Christ University are of ‘A’ grade and the University believes in all round development therefore cultural and sports activities are quite prominent. I loved being a part of this organization and the Industry interface seminars that are conducted by dependable Industry leaders were one hell of an experience.

Being an ex Christite, I am indebted to the kind of opportunities and learning that the Christ University provided. It’s now or never at the Christ as the classes starts around 8.30am and ends at 4.30pm. On same days it can go beyond that as well but we don’t have a choice but to attend them all. Practical sessions, interactive sessions and group building was all a part of curriculum. The University created a corporate culture in the studies and we got a feel of how are going to work once placed. The MBA course is designed given equal weightage to practical and theory. Internship during the final semester was a part of the curriculum and also the biggest learning and a platform where all that we were taught in last 3 semesters was put into action.

The faculty is heavily experienced especially when it came to MBA (Marketing). Some faculty were over 3 decades old and even at this age they were engaged in research of their own. All the faculty had industrial experience at their back and they gave us practical examples that actually helped us understand the topics. For marketing students instinct is the basic and how to get instinct better is what our lecturers taught us. The quality is in-built and the faculty even asked few students to change the subject as it’s not their den. In short the faculty filtered the potential students and helped us hone our skills so that we can become team leaders in future.

For decades Christ University MBA Placements record is nearly 100% if not exact 100%. The corporate network that the University has unbeaten. The big 4 have started coming the campus for a decade and IT that has and will remain the top recruiter. Also start-ups like Unacademy and Byju’s took some of the students as they needed marketing experts who can help their organization grow. I am working in the latter and my inputs have been appreciated by my bosses. The average placement package was nearby Rs. 8-10 lakhs a couple of years back and given the inflation topping the charts the numbers have surpassed significantly from thereon.

Separate boys and girls hostel known as Jonas & St Kuriakose Elias Hall. There are 3 blocks for boys and 4 I think for girls. The hostel rooms for PG students are given on single to triple sharing options and the fees was in accordance of the room preferences. A huge common room was there in each block of the hostel where group studies or fun activities were done. Mostly fun as in MBA we hardly were left with any energy after returning from classes. The hostel gates had security guards 24*7 and non-hostellers were not given the entry inside the hostel.

There are some 20 blocks in the campus as each department has their own blocks. The University has 2 libraries and both are digital. Food courts in almost every area of the campus can be found and from North to South you will have all the delicacies inside the campus. The University has indoor and outdoor sporting facilities and the University has a sports ground that meets all the international standards. The college also has a medical facility and the University has also has its ties with some nearby hospitals. The large auditorium halls and one open amphitheater are world-class. The University is well-maintained and even though it exists since decades it still looks new.

Life was so fun at the Christ University Campus as along with studies you can seek your other potentials as well. MBA students hardly had time but if you are chasing dreams you have to take some time out. The diversity with students coming from all the Indian states was a great experience. The Christmas celebration at the campus is something that I won’t see again in this lifetime. I hope I reach some top position so that in Alumni meet I get invitation to be a part of such a grand celebration where thousands of students come together for celebration. Life at Christ will be missed for the rest of my life.
