R.V. College of Engineering B.Tech Review By Pankaj Sharma

RV College of Engineering is situated in a beautiful and tech city in India, Bangalore. Its location is very significant as it provides great exposure to so many tech giants directly with or without the link of college. To get admission to this college, an entrance test is mandatory. The entrance test is conducted by the college itself, it does not require you to clear JEE mains as most of the engineering colleges have these criteria. During the admissions you can easily contact with college administration and they will provide you with one advisor who will handle and manage all your administration very careful during the entire admission process. I took admission here in the undergrad program that is B.Tech in the branch of Computer and Science engineering. I was told this college will be a good choice for this branch, which later on come true.

I joined the Computer and Science engineering course here. After class 12th I didn’t give any entrance exams like JEE, UKSEE, etc. therefore, I had very options to get into a good college. However, this college took its entrance exam which is one of the many reasons I joined this college. The course here that I opted for is up to my expectations. However, studying this course here is a little bit tougher when I compared the experiences in a different college. You will be getting very long assignments and that too very frequently. However, such pressure working has turned me into good engineering, but in those days it feels so much pressure. You also have to give 3 exams per semester. There are many clubs in this college, among which, car racing club is the most active and popular club here. The students here are very competitive which offers a good quality of learning in the college.

Similar to other colleges, faculty do not have very active participation in the college. However, faculty that is all the professors are up to the mark. Students here are not fond of their professors, because they are of mostly no help outside the colleges, as all the events and clubs are being managed by the students themselves. During internal examinations, students are worried as the marks are mostly dependent upon the quality of interaction they have with their professors. Moreover, to improve their bonding with professors, one has to be a bright student who is interactive in the question-answer rounds during the lectures, and one must not have their attendance short, it puts you in their bad book.

There is one entrepreneurship and placements cell in the college dedicated solely to the placements, however, there is one society of this department in which students are inducted. We regularly visit there to understand how it works and the best possible way we could get ourselves a good internship. Here the location of the college plays a significant role as many startups are based in Bangalore which is always recruiting students for internships and jobs.

There are different hostels for boys and girls reserved for them outside the campus. The hostel timings of boys are flexible however, for girls in the undergrad, the timings are very strict. Hostel rooms are given as one student per room. Hostel rooms are medium-sized with a small balcony for students residing on the first and above floors. Hostels are also equipped with an indoor sports room where you can play badminton, table tennis, carom and other such indoor games, however, there is always low population busy in these games, because very few people are interested in these activities in the hostel. The sanitation of the hostel is nice; the toilets and bathrooms are very well cleaned. There is also a huge mess inside the hostel itself, where at a time 150-200 students can sit and have their food. The sitting arrangement in the mess is also very impressive, you will be feeling as if you’re sitting inside a restaurant. Moreover, the quality of food in the mess is also good, the mess serves pure vegetarian food all time.

The college campus building is 50 years old however, most of the buildings are newly constructed. The condition of the labs and classrooms of the college is very nice, all the equipment and furniture of the college are very modern. The college is equipped with smart classrooms. There is also a big library nearby to the hostels, which are convenient and also the library timings are flexible enough for most of the students.

Overall, your campus life will be very good here, the location is very impressive, the college events are soothing and much more. Talking about the college fests, RV College of Engineering is very popular for its theatre. Moreover, the theatre of the RV college of engineering has direct connections with the film industry. Being in the state of Karnataka, you will be seeing the perks of the theatre’s connection with the Kannada film industry. Fests here are of the high budget here. The most significant thing about this is that all events have to be organized by the students. This gives great exposure to all the students. All the events here are organized not by the college, but by the societies and clubs of the college which gives the chance to a maximum number of students to participate in such activities.
