My Opinion on Assam University Silchar: All the Aspects

Overall Rating
My journey at Assam University Silchar started back at 2021. This University is popular as compared to other private Universities. I belong to Assam only. It is surrounded by nature. The University has students which belong to different states. I chose this University because it is close to my house. There are not many Institutions for my course in Assam. All these reason made me choose this University. I would recommend students to take admission in this University.
 

Academics Rating
I chose B. Pharm which comes under the department of Pharmaceutical Sciences by Sushruta School of Medical and Paramedical Science. I took admission after Covid and at that the students need to qualify the entrance test given by the University. From 2022, the students need to qualify the CUET exam for taking admission in this University. In my course, there are 2 semester end exam and internal exams held in 1 year. It also conducts practicals in each semester which makes us industry ready. We also have to do internship.
The fee for my course in Assam University is around Rs. 46,000/- in the 1st year. In final year I paid Rs. 37,500/-. The scholarship is also provided to the students.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members of this University are good. In my department, we have around 10 male teachers and 3 female teachers. The faculty members are highly qualified. They have done Doctorate and have good experience in their respective field. The teaching methods include white boards, projectors, etc. Overall, the teachers are very friendly and help students in every way possible. There are around 300 students in the department.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, the University has placement cell. In my batch, around 35 out of 50 students were placed. The placement cell is quite decent.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the University provides hostel facilities to the students. There are separate hostels for girls and the boys. There are around 11 hostels, 6 girls’ hostel and 5 boys hostel. The hostels are good with good infrastructure.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus of Assam University is spread over 600 acres and it is surrounded by forests. The academic block has the largest building in the campus. The campus has a central library which is situated in the middle of campus with more than 126000 books. The University has canteen, gym, health centre, etc. It also provides transportation facilities to the students. My favorite place is the gym as it has high tech machines.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is pretty decent. It remains crowded at day time and it is very peaceful at the night. The University organises many fest throughout the year. It also conducts sports events for the students. There are many clubs such as Debate club, etc. I favorite is the Film club. The G.S night and AUS’ Kriti are the most remarkable fests and they are usually conducted during winters. The fests are organised by the students union.

    Assam University is a vast University based in Silchar. The people here are from different states and cultures which makes the University very diverse and interesting. Our University also conducts various events and fests frequently. We celebrate both religious and cultural festivals as well. Even different sports as organized.     University is good as there is no unnecessary chaos nearby and it feels soothing. Maybe the infrastructure is nice. I particularly chose Assam University as it was nearby to my hometown.
