The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology is a Deemed to be University which has obtained several recognitions & rankings by the QS World University Rankings 2026. The QS World University Rankings 2026 compared more than 1500 of the World’s top Universities using strict criteria including Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Faculty-Student Ratio, Citations per Faculty, International Faculty and Student Ratio, Research Network, Employment Outcomes, and Sustainability.

#No. 1 Rank in the Private Universities (Odisha)
KIIT – DU has made a historic achievement as it has secured the number one position among all the Private Universities in Odisha in the QS World University Rankings 2026, which was unveiled today.
#9th Position in India’s Top Private HEI’s
The Deemed to be University has received 9th rank among India’s top-notch Private Higher Education Institutions and has secured a worthy Global ranking, making its debut in the elite Global rankings, as per a press release from the Institute.
#55th Rank in Asian University Rankings
In its first ever participation, KIIT has not only become a robust contender in the Global academic arena but also reached the position of 55th in Asian University Rankings — Southern Asia. This accomplishment highlights KIIT’s swift and assertive climb in the higher education scene globally and its absolute dedication to teaching excellence, research, innovation, and Internationalisation.
Responding to the recognition, Dr Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT & Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), remarked, “This award is a culmination of our persistent efforts towards academic excellence, social responsibility, and International outreach. KIIT Bhubaneswar, despite being just 21 years young, has eclipsed several century-old Institutions.
