Adamas University Partners with TeamLease EdTech for Work-Linked Degree Programmes

Three NewGen programmes offer students the rare combination of a formal degree, verified work experience, and a monthly stipend all at once.

Adamas University announced the launch of three NewGen Work-Linked Campus Degree Programmes (WLDPs) in partnership with TeamLease EdTech, India’s leading learning and employability solutions company on 8 April 2026. The initiative marks the first time a university in West Bengal has embedded structured, paid employment into a full-time, on-campus degree, setting a new benchmark for how higher education can directly deliver career outcomes.

Adamas University will offer the NewGen Work-Linked Campus Degree Programs across key undergraduate pathways, including:

• Tech in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (Business Application)
• Tech in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (FinTech)
• BBA E-commerce

The launch comes at a defining moment for Indian higher education. With only 4.2% of Indians aged 15–59 having received formal vocational or technical training, the gap between a degree and genuine job-readiness has never been more costly. These programmes are designed to close that gap by integrating three outcomes that students and employers have historically had to choose between: academic rigour, real-world experience, and financial independence.

The NewGen Work-Linked Campus Degree Programs are designed to bridge the gap between education and employment by combining:

• On-the-job learning experience

• Digital education

At the core of the model are two key principles:

• Earn While You Learn: Students engage in structured employment during their degree, enabling them to gain financial support while building real-world experience
• Learn By Doing: Workplace exposure is embedded into the learning process, allowing students to apply academic concepts in real time

This integrated approach ensures that students graduate with both academic qualifications and verified work experience, significantly enhancing their readiness for the workforce.

Delivered through the NewGen Campus Degree framework, the programmes are structured as full-time, on-campus experiences that are immersive, application-driven, and built around real career pathways. Students do not just study online in isolation; they attend campus, work with employers, and build professional identities while still undergraduates. The model aligns fully with the National Education Policy 2020’s emphasis on integrating vocational training within formal degree structures.

Adamas University, with its 120-acre campus near Kolkata, over 10,000 students, and a strong industry collaboration record, becomes among the first universities nationally to offer this model on campus, bringing a programme type previously available only through online and distance education into the on-campus mainstream.
