Shri Shankaracharya Mahavidyalaya, Bhilai is the most prominent Graduation college in the state of Chhattisgarh. Situated in well-planned steel city of Bhilai, College has been producing excellent graduates over a decade now. College is Affiliated to Hemchand Yadav University. Admission Process starts with applying for a course under the university website and followed by required document verification in the applied college. 12th standard marks are only criteria for the admission. Parents and Students can take free counseling from faculties.

I Joined three year Bachelor of Business Administration course. This professional course can be studied by student from any streams, it offers insightful and detailed views of managerial and leadership roles. It has six semesters in three years, two in each. Student scoring more than 50% marks in XII is eligible for this course irrespective of streams they had previously. I personally took admission in the course to develop the skill set for Managerial and leadership roles in the corporate world. Course is designed in such a way that you get to explore different subjects in every semester which assures overall development and employability of students. Teachers impart in-depth knowledge and explain the concepts clearly with contemporary examples and case studies. Students are provided with previous research projects and assignments to take guidance from. Class discussions, Debate and Powerpoint presentations are also conducted.

Commerce and Management Department consists of 12 highly qualified teachers and ex-corporate professionals with years of experience who teach and train students helping them to develop the required skill set for their future roles. Total of 56 faculties are there in the College with average 5 years of experience in their respective fields. The teaching faculties are highly qualified, some of them have are pursuing their research projects and have doctoral degrees to their name. Teachers stay always connected to provide guidance and help to students even after the college hours to ensure their growth.

Training and Placement cell of college is highly active in bringing the new companies every year to recruit the skilled students. Companies from different fields like IT, Edtech and etc. often visit the campus. Companies like Jaro, Byjus, Globusoft, Augtech Nextwealth, Genpact, Nestle, Tech Bharat, Capgemini, ICICI Bank come for campus placement. Highest Per Annum Package offered was Rs. 6 lacs Per Annum by Jaro and average package of Rs. 1.80 lacs has been received. Corporate Training is also provided from first year only from esteemed professionals and students willing to pursue higher education are also guided.

Shri Shankaracharya has separate hostels for boys and girls within the college radius of 1 km. In house Mess facility is available with different menus each day along with Sunday special every week, Security, Cleaning & drinking water, 24x7 helping staff, hostel is fully equipped with everything. Social gathering Places, Market area, Coaching institute all are walk-able distance from the hostel campus.

Shri Shankaracharya is well constructed for the presence of more than 1500 students and staff with sufficiently accommodating Parking lot for two and four wheeler. Fully functional Computer lab, Chemistry lab, Physics lab, Psychology lab, Bio-chemistry lab. Class room is equipped with single table and chair for students with cleanliness and hygiene. Central library with book bank facility, journals and magazines are present. All the induction programme, workshops and seminars are conducted in the auditorium and campus has a wi-fi facility for the students also along with gymnasium room. Campus has a playground and cafeteria to cater all the students and staff members. For medical emergency and support, campus has first aid room and Shri Shankaracharya has its own hospital in 500 meters distance.

Campus is always high on energy with students from different parts of the states who are always engaged in different activities. College has clubs like Rotaract club for local and grassroot service for young men and women. Eco Club called “Pallavan” for environment awareness.
Student youth programme like NSS (National Service Scheme) for arousing social consciousness for overall personality development of students through community service. NCC (National Cadet Corps) is also present to develop character and leadership in youth. Every department has its own fest which happens between month of October to November, which brings all the students together to participate in Cultural, Art, Sports activities with their great zeal and followed by DJ night on the last day. Annual Function also happens usually in the month of April which helps students to meet people from different background and showcase their respective talents.
