AKTU is the best place for the explosiveness in a student's life

Overall Rating
AKTU is counted as one of the largest University in Asia and number 1 in the North India region. It has ranked to 2nd position when it comes to the innovative techniques about teaching. There are two ways of getting into any college of the AKTU. One is to get the direct admission and other one is to give the UPSEE [Uttar Pradesh States Entrance Examination] and take admission through the counseling in the college according to the rank one has got in the exam.
 

Academics Rating
I have taken admission in Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science Engineering through the counseling method. The only reason I could find in joining this course is that I was being told it has maximum exposure and scope. It is somehow true when I went to AKTU to pursue my B.Tech degree. I am given exposure in various fields other than Engineering. When it comes to the study part, the University is not that good as expected. There is a medicine for every average student called as the Quantum to get pass or may be top in the exam.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties in the AKTU are mixture of good and bad. There are some teachers who are alumni of the AKTU itself and some are graduates of the NITs and IITs. Depending on their degree, the positions are given to them in the college. The reaction about the faculties is mixed because of their different teaching styles. Some are focused on clearing the semester exams only and some let the students think beside the B. Tech degree by giving them idea about GATE/PSUs. There are total of 60-70 teaching staff in the CSE branch only and more than 1000 in total.
 

Placement Rating
To be honest, the placement cell of the AKTU is the worst of all as they do not work from the student’s side. But has an efficient working on the recruiter’s side. The students during the placement time are treated like sheep and are made to be loaded in the so called company likes TCS, Infosys, Wipro etc. The university does claim that the highest package is Rs. 25 LPA [Lakhs Per Annum] but it is of the marketing and not of engineering. The average package that the students in this university get is Rs. 2.5 to 3 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
There are separate hostels provided by the university for the boys and the girls and are of the three floors each. There is a fine distance between both the buildings. The worst part of the hostel life is for the girls mainly as they are not allowed to enter hostel after 7 PM without the parents getting involved and for boys there is no deadline. The food is prepared by the different cooks in the boys’ and girls’ hostel and it is worst. The students do not get the essential nutrients from the food they eat after spending a lot.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The Campus area is 20 acre including playground, hostels, and various other building in the university. The first-year building is separated from the rest of the year’s building, so they are given the foundation and are made to follow the rules strictly. The classrooms in the first-year building have ACs in them but they are hardly working. In the libraries, the students are not allowed to enter other than their recess time. The university’s atmosphere is not suitable for studying so most of the students either bunk and go outside the college campus or hang in the cafeteria.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life for the students who are not serious about their Engineering is good. As the Abdul Kalam Technical University gives the opportunities to the students in the cultural and art fields instead of academic. In a year, a Tech Fest is arranging which is formal and for the fun Hackathon is added in the fest which has no value. The students do get the human growth and with the Campus to Corporate program, students are prepared for the professionalism. But these students lack skill and are made to learn the things they will be doing for the rest of their lives.
