Accurate Institute of Management and Technology MBA Review By Sagar Shah

AIMT is not worth it but before I start let me tell you that my views are entitled only to me and I am sharing the experiences that I had at AIMT. The college that hardly has any labs for MBA students the computer lab was also not entirely functional and the condition of the institute during my academic year was in trouble. The placements were however decent but at least the institute is not worth it. If you had any problem with the college, you hardly had a way to reach the management. Student’s nuisance was common as the engineering students had their issues on daily basis. Even we created nuisance to get the computer lab functional. For MBA students there are no activities as there were no competitions or fests in the college. There was no optional or mandatory training and at one point I actually gave up as I never felt like I am a management student. Case studies were provided and that was it as there was no feedback given on our assignments.

The institute is poor when it comes to academics. Poor in the sense that I have seen all my friends going in for internships after the second semester itself. The trisemester system is how the course was and we had exams every 4 months. Hardly any practicals just one and a half hours 4-5 lectures along with case studies. If you are doing MBA 12 hours is what you need to spend daily to complete the classes and assignments. There were no events or study related seminars and all that was promised at the beginning was a sheer lie. Fortunately we had a whole lot of subjects to choose from and credits is all what were required to have the MBA degree at AIMT.

They can be divided as some brilliant while some ignorant. The faculty did no wrong as they did their job of teaching but the management has tied down their hands and they had to follow the protocols that were in place. Even they were not happy and only asked us to concentrate on studies as MBA is all about placements. Some of the teachers had industrial experience and they did conducted workshops for us and that was the only exposure that we had in the entire 2 years. The faculty has somehow managed to keep the institute alive.

Fortunately the placement cell became active during the third semester and we were assured that for the students who have maintained credits will be placed no matter what. At least the college kept its promise on that front as some 30 odd companies. Out of those 30 10 were banks, 10 were real estate companies and rest 10 were from different sectors. IDFC First Bank opened some 4-5 branches in NCR and took 30-35 students from our batch. The package we all were offered was 7-8 CTC. This was also the cumulative average and 50-60% students had something to cheer for in an otherwise dismal time at the college. Fortunately this happened before the start of the 4th semester and last semester was chill.

The college has both boys and girls hostel. The hostel is located in the campus and that was one good thing. The hostel building is new and is well equipped. The hostel gave a home kind of feel as the rooms had ACs, TVs, and a balcony. The bathrooms were common on each floor and also had a hot and cold drinking water facility. The bathrooms also had hot and cold running water. The food provided at the hostel mess was decent enough. The security at the hostel premises was quite high and no trespassing was allowed or could be attempted.

The building is as attractive as some of the topmost malls of Noida and Gurgaon. It is not student’s fault they get trapped by it. The campus is lush green and the computer lab was great. Don’t know the number of computers it had but were all latest and the internet speed was over 100mbps. The whole campus was Wi-Fi and as management students we could sit in any corner of the campus and submit the assignments. The classrooms were air-conditioned and projectors and smart boards were installed. The library and the reading room were also air-conditioned and were accessible for hostel students 24*7. The college has a canteen that is opened till mid-night and for coffee lovers it was no less than a paradise. For the students living within the city the bus facility was provided by the college itself.

Environment wise the college is good but the way MBA is studied in this college is not the way. I don’t have my own institution by have met many students of different colleges and the kind of exposure, training, and guidance they were provided is something that a college of half of the repertoire of AIMT has also done. My complaints are genuine and I raised them along with my friends even while I studied there and if the things are still the same I would never recommend this college to anyone. Also there are no events or fests at the college and this is again a common in various private Universities in Greater Noida. The universities don’t have to go far as they can just learn from how the DU colleges are run.
