Overall a very good college!

Overall Rating
Sir Parashurambhau College Pune ranks 65th in the top colleges in India. My experience in the admission process was good. It was an easy process and I did not have much issue completing it. The college management was very good, as well. SP College is exceptional when it comes to popularity and the variety of courses it has to offer to the students. Overall it's a good college for gaining education in the true sense. The courses offered in this college are, B.Sc, M.Sc, BBA, B.Com, MA, M.Com, and PhD.
 

Academics Rating
I opted for B.Sc, and it was easy to get admission for this course on the basis of my 12th std percentile. I could not afford to get into engineering college so I decided to settle down for a B.Sc degree. But I think it doesn’t make much difference. Doing this degree also got me a job and I’m doing pretty well in my career. So, I’m happy to have taken up this course in SP college.
 

Faculty Rating
Though the education of the faculty was extremely good, their teaching ability was not that good. I did not like any of my faculty. They tried their best to teach us the subjects but somehow did not succeed. I think they could do with some amount of training. The average experience of the faculty was around 15 to 20 years.
 

Placement Rating
Our college had a placement cell that organised placements in the campus every year. The companies coming in were average ones. The packages did not provide handsome packages but offered average amount. Not more than half the percentage of students got placed in companies. So, I’d say the placements of SP college were not that good. It is also possible to get a job outside the campus.
 

Hostel Rating
I, being a resident of Mumbai was in need of accommodation. I was fortunate enough as this college had a hostel. Hence I did not have to roam around in search of room and roommates. I quickly opted for hostel immediately after the admission process was completed. The hostel facility was inexpensive and that was a cherry on the cake. Another benefit of the hostel was an excellent food quality. It is rare to find good food in the hostel mess.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college campus area is spread over several acres. The infrastructure was good and the college building was massive because there are several branches in the college. The classrooms, labs, etc. were well maintained. Being the hosteller, I’ve spent a lot of time in the college library. It was a peaceful place to study in.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life was not so appealing. As compared to any engineering colleges, it was an okayish campus. But the cultural events celebrated were extremely wonderful. I enjoyed myself to the fullest. Being away from my home, I did not feel homesick because of the frequent events and festivals celebrated in the college.
