KLE Society's College of Business Administration, Lingaraj College BBA Review By Ramesh Kumar

KLE Society is a renowned group and the society’s CBALC Lingaraj College which just offers one course BBA has the smartest student batch. In my time it was can’t say about what’s happening as of now as people have started exploring other options in recent times but in our time that was the best option. The college campus is extremely beautiful and one thing assured that you will never be bored of the campus as it will take a while to explore the entire campus. Academics are utmost as the most qualified BBA graduates pass out from here every year. The level of teaching was unbelievable as we had tutorials and group discussions among the students and this will give you a better sense of where you stand and how far you have to travel. If this wasn’t enough seminars and guest lectures were also organized. Once you enter the final year you will be exposed to industrial visits and it was as good as working in the organization because before the training we had dummy training sessions at the campus as well. KLE boasts the best placements in Belgaum that don’t just offer mediocre packages but the highest packages for BBA students.

This was the most important part of the college. After the 1st year, there were 6 specialization subjects and we had to choose 1 of those. The subjects included event management, business analytics, financial services, and financial markets, and others. We were made aware of all the subjects and financial services where we would be taught the expertise of handling financial situations made me have a go at it. We had the option of changing the subject after 3rd semester but I went ahead with it. Most of the subjects remained the same 2-3 add-ons for each specialization were added in the specialized course we chose.

Faculty was no doubt good but one thing for sure that whichever college you choose, self-study is what matters after 12th. The faculty would complete the syllabus and even hold extra classes if needed but the class debates and tutorials gave the faculty an idea on which students need extra attention. They dedicated their time to the students which found the course difficult. Many students from the science stream entered the college and finance was beyond them so they were well taken care of. Overall the faculty was nice and nobody would ever have any issues with them during my time.

The training that happened right from the 1st semester was to get students placed at the top corporate. In my specialized subjects, banks and insurance companies were the core companies that interviewed all of us. Like engineering colleges, we didn’t have upfront placements but we were informed on who has made it and who has missed the bus. ICICI Lombard and Indusind Bank were the 2 companies I interviewed for and I saw my name under ICICI Lombard. We were again called for an interview then and this was the final round. I was offered a placement worth 4lakhs p.a. One of them suggested me to take up higher studies as maybe they saw more potential in me. Minting 4 lakhs didn’t convince me to take the job and with a smile on my face, I told them I will take up higher studies and they were also happy with my decision. The average placements were 5 lakhs and around 80% of the students did have the offer to work.

KLECBLAC has 3 boys and 2 girls’ hostel buildings. The hostel buildings with single, double, and triple sharing basis. The single and double sharing hostel buildings had attached washrooms while the triple sharing hostel building had common washrooms on each floor. The hostels were inside the campus and therefore we can use all the facilities round the clock. The hostel had nice security and there was no entry without the college I-card. The cupboards had mirror and that helped us shave inside the room. For those who couldn’t manage there was also a salon near the hostel building. The hostel canteen served us food right from breakfast to lunch and dinner.

KLE CBALC has a 25-acre campus with all the latest amenities was a place to watch out for. One of the top sites of the college was the conference hall where not just the conferences but all the students’ activities were also held. From academic workshops to cultural activities everything happened at the conference hall. Other than the conference hall, there was also an auditorium that also incorporated cultural activities as the auditorium hall was bigger than the conference hall. Both these halls were centrally air-conditioned. Sports was given huge importance after the studies and the college also hired coaches of the respective sports. The indoor sports included badminton, table tennis, and carom while outdoor sporting facilities include a basketball court, a football ground, and track and field court, etc. There is also a swimming pool that had different timings for boys and girls to use the facility. The canteen was nice as it had some north Indian dishes and that too at a very reasonable price. The infrastructure on a whole was epic.

At KLE Lingaraj College students were mostly from Karnataka, Goa, and southern states and I was one of those rare students from the North. However, that helped me have some extra attention, and was always asked by my mates about my well-being. That also made me feel special and I still remember was asked to perform a solo dance during the events so that students can know a bit about the North Indian culture as well.
