Brindavan College of Engineering is affiliated with VTU (Visvesvaraya Technological University) and AICTE recognized top institute and is, therefore, the top choice for the students wanting to do B.Tech. Bangalore is not just an IT hub but a city that has potentially more opportunities than any other city in India. This is why I and many students like me chose Bangalore to be the city for doing Engineering. Students from not just the nation but from abroad also intend to come to Bangalore for studies. Not just the mix of education but the kind of job opportunities that colleges of Bangalore provide is unmatched. Brindavan may not be the best but is not far from the best engineering colleges in Bangalore. One thing that stood out was that there were many small towners and therefore the college made sure that they will teach us beyond academics. There were many personality development programs, communication, and presentation skills training to make sure those students of Brindavan always have a lot to offer in whichever organization they choose. Brindavan College Yelahanka is one of those colleges that will guarantee you a successful life, if you have taken the college seriously.

In engineering, there are mostly many optional subjects and that made life hell. As a CSE student, there were many projects and practicals and before we could get over that, a subject dedicated to the UN and its organization was added to the syllabus. The College has toppers at the university level and that is because of the students that join this college. Some of them are already ahead of the schedule as the best quality nerds will be procured from Brindavan. By no means, I am not crediting the college for this because college has always supported students in whichever way they can.

I know all the synonyms of strict and strictness because they all can be easily applied to the 20-25 faculty that our course had. First of all the number of faculty was much more than required and secondly making college a school-like discipline is not possible. One thing that they did great was that all the classes were not lecture-based but every now and then we had a discussion like classes. The faculty was open if we say that take the lecture in the corridors or the college theater. If they were a little less strict, I would have spoken volumes about them.

After enriching us with so many qualities that in a way helps in placement, it was just a matter of time before almost all of us are showered with placement opportunities. I seriously doubt that do TCS needs that many students every year because they take students in bulk who clears their aptitude tests. The interview post decides the package that we will be offered. TCS is the biggest recruiter and there were many other small and big IT firms that shown up. By choice, I believe all those who maintained a 6+ GPA had placements. The average of the jobs offered was in the range of 5-6 Lakhs and some students even got the placements worth 18-20 Lakhs with IBM. They were exceptional but for mediocre students, it was just 5 lakhs and it wasn’t that amount that would please my parents to allow me to stay in Bangalore and therefore couldn’t accept the offer.

Brindavan Group of Institutions has a girl’s hostel and 2 boy’s hostel on the campus. The hostel had many options like double sharing to four sharing rooms. The fees for double sharing was 60k a year while for a 3 seater room, one has to pay 50k and in a four sharing room it was 40k. The girl’s hostel capacity was of 300 students. The hostel fees also included the mess fees and the food provided was below average. Luckily we could order online and there was no restriction on that. The four-seater room was huge and I stayed at 4 sharing rooms for 2 years before relocating to double sharing. Pure drinking water was provided along with hot and cold water for a bath. The hostel was not just cheaper but was also feasible as it had a strict curfew time and parents back home were assured that their kids are safe.

You will feel like, you have entered an IT Park. The College of Engineering building was the biggest of them all as there were 8 departments and each department had 2 classes each. The computer lab was awe-inspiring and the campus, on the whole, was palatial. At the lobby of the building, the images of freedom fighters are placed. There are 3-4 gardens inside the campus. The campus is not that huge but has a modern setup. There were 2 canteens inside the campus but just like the hostel the food of the canteen also sucked.

One can divert their focus from studies to activities immediately as the life at Brindavan College of Engineering provided enough societies to be a part of. The Uniform was compulsory on weekdays and though it was a hard task but wish we had a choice. The college fest, fresher's party, graduation party, and all were celebrated at the college auditorium. As a girl student, I can say that college is completely secured and every year over 100 girls from different parts of Indian come and join this college. I learned a lot of things at the college and will always be thankful for that to Brindavan College of Engineering.
