Kumaun University B.Sc Review By Himanshi

DSB Campus, Nainital is the main campus of Kumaun University. There are lots of people who come to this college to take admissions just by reading reviews or some students choose it because of the beauty of the place. It is not ranked in one of the best colleges but yes any average student can get admission. This college is affiliated to Kumaun University, Nainital. Kumaun University admission process takes place according to cut offs and there are some courses for which exams are conducted. The authority should improve their level of admissions. The admission process takes place when your name appears on the cut off list after the registration and required documents are submitted online. The college management is not up to the mark. It always delays the registration and other formalities. The college management should work for the welfare of the students so that the new students do not have to wander in the campus. They are not helped by the management due to which they have to lose their money. The management does not give enough facility to the students as shown in the guidelines. The higher authority must follow the rules and guidelines so that the students do not affected by the slow and careless way of teaching. The management should take the responsibility to take regular classes of their students.

I joined the course B.Sc (Bachelor of science). This is a good course to join as the maths faculty is really good. The eligibility criteria to join this course is 12th passes with PCM /PCB. The student who applies for the admission should pass out the cut off criteria and there is an email or message sent to the student who is eligible for the admission to submit their documents. I joined this course to study further about mathematics and do masters in it. This is a very helpful course for those who want to appear for government exams and do further specialisation in the subjects. The course is not as per my expectations. According to me, a student should be given a language as subject not three main difficult subjects to study. It pressurises the students. It will be helpful to get jobs but only if the student passes with good score.

The number of faculty of my course is only three. But, according to the three core subjects it should increase. The teachers should take out time to interact with their students. Just sitting in office doesn't help students. The academic qualification of faculties is high but it is all waste as they do not utilize it. They are least interested in entering into the class. Only the mathematics faculty is active. The other faculty do not appear in classes to teach. It is a huge waste of government money who pays these teachers so high.

There is no training given as the college does not have practical facilities. No top company hires students of the college directly. There is no package offered to students. The percentage score is also very low as the teachers hardly have time to teach. Alone student body cannot take charge of the queries.

The hostel facility is provided with food. But, it is not enough for the students. There are very less number of students who get these. They charge a very high amount of fee. A lot of students have to live in rental rooms and is difficult to reach college everyday walking long distance. The food quality is not so good. The security is also very lenient.

The infrastructure is not very large as it should be according to the main campus. The buildings are small. There are not enough classes and library books for the students. There is no playground for the college students to practice their sports. Even the sports equipments are not provided by the sports faculty. There is no such facility of medical and emergency report for the students. It gets hard to get treatment if a student is unwell.

The overall review is that a student should keep it the last option of your list. The overall campus life is good but not on the basis of academics. There are no clubs, no social activity no human growth and no interactive learning for students. There is no room for exploring the college life. The fests are not held properly and there is no priority given to celebrations.
