Mukand Lal National College B.Com Review By Samarth Mahendru

As we all know that we have so much excitement after 12th for the college we are going to be a part of and as others, I was too very much excited. This college was suggested by one of my friends who have studied from there so when I visited for the first time I looked around for the campus, classrooms and teachers and all of that seem so impressive. For the admission I was nervous that is my percentage enough but in reality they took admissions of even students with 50-60% and I had scored 70% so it wasn't difficult for me to get admission. In the first week, they just provide us knowledge about the academics, placement opportunities, different important courses and competitions & functions that are organized in the college. And then on day of fresher, we get in touch with our classmates, seniors and teachers and had an enjoyable day. After that, the main phase started when we started getting our lectures, projects, camps and a great college life with the friends.

I was thinking of BBA but I have to prepare for competitive exams too so I decided to go for B.Com because it was told by everyone that it's easier than BBA. Also for me the reason to go for a regular course was to have good placement opportunities as a backup plan and good study too. Yeah the course is helpful for getting the job but those who actually get the job are in so less proportion as compare to the students.

If I talk about faculty, the teachers were so good. They all were good at teaching but one thing this can be felt by only those who were busy in attending the lecture. I mean they didn't scold the students who were busy in using the phone during the lecture and not in listening to what has been taught. I was one of them who believed in getting knowledge other than wasting my time on phones. So for me faculty was really good and we have been provided with different skillful projects related to course and quality study.

If we talk about placements, it was completely based on your skills that which package you will get and get called for the job. The packages varied from 2L-3L per annum. And some higher packages are also which is cracked by 2-3 students in whole to be honest. The most of the placements are for the recruitment in the companies of Chandigarh. I also cracked one of the placement interviews for Chandigarh job placement and worked there for one year and now I'm an employee in the bank.

Hostel facility is also available there. There are separate portion for boys and girls. I was an outsider because I'm from Saharanpur (UP). I stayed in the hostel there. But to be honest the hostel facility was not that good and I was missing the food of my home. But rooms were somewhat good and with the cooperative roommate I enjoyed staying in hostel. We weren't allowed to go out at night so safety measures were also good. So even if you a girl staying in hostel would be a good option for you.

If I talk about the view of the college it was pretty much good. Buildings and classrooms were fine to get stayed there and study with concentration. We were having all the things we actually need in a college a good library for the studious ones, playground for those who were interested in sports and cafeteria too to enjoy and have food with our friend circle. Medication and emergency facilities were also quite good there because once one of my friends got badly injured while playing sports so I took him to the medical department with me and did the necessary treatment.

Campus is a place where I had so much of memories with my college friends. We used to go there during the break and enjoy teasing playing and hanging out with each other. Also different activities were performed there related to competitions, personal development and sports.
