It is a top computer science institution in the country. It has some of the best computer science programmes. The curriculum at IIIT Hyderabad is truly cutting-edge and industry-relevant. The course structure is rigorous, with frequent assignments, quizzes, and conceptual exams that test our ability to apply what we've learned. Professors are also helpful and highly qualified. It has a very strong coding culture and emphasis on research and development. There are also opportunities to improve our communication and other soft skills. Campus life at IIIT Hyderabad is vibrant and engaging, despite the relatively small campus size. Living on campus is a memorable experience in itself. We make many lifelong friends here. Placements are top notch. Overall, it provides the perfect environment to grow and improve ourselves.

I am enrolled in CHD course which is a course in Computer Science and Humanities. Other courses offered are CSE, CLD (linguistics), CND (natural sciences), and ECD (electronics). For admission to the undergraduate programs, students need to clear the UGEE and the interview stage as well. For the 12th standard, a minimum of 70% or equivalent is generally required. My motive for enrolling was that it is one of the country's top computer science colleges and provides a very good placement.

Most faculty members at IIIT Hyderabad hold Ph.D degrees and have strong research backgrounds in their respective fields. Professors are interactive and genuinely interested in teaching their subjects. They are very down to earth and approachable. They emphasize conceptual understanding and application rather than rote learning. We are also assigned Teaching Assistants for each subject to clear our personal doubts after class.

IIIT Hyderabad has an active Placement Cell that handles the recruitment process and facilitates interactions between students and potential employers. Students become eligible for campus placements starting from the 4th year of their program (for B.Tech students) or when their thesis is finalised (for dual-degree students). The Placement Cell helps students with resume preparation, interview skills, and other aspects of the job search process. Top companies like Microsoft, Google, Apple, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and others regularly recruit from the institute. Overall, students express satisfaction with the opportunities provided by the Placement Cell and the guidance they receive in securing job offers from reputed companies.

The hostels are well-maintained and cleaned regularly. They are not that big in size but not too small either, but slightly smaller than average. We are expected to stay in triple sharing in the first year, after that we move into double sharing rooms, and single sharing in the final year. Each room is equipped with fans and provided with LAN connections (after the first year). The hostels do not have air conditioning or coolers, but students can purchase coolers for their rooms if needed. IIIT Hyderabad has a total of 4 messes on campus, providing multiple dining options. The mess options include North Indian, South Indian, non-vegetarian (Kadamb Mess), and a healthy/low-oil option (Yuktahar Mess). We can switch between different messes at any time through an online portal. The hostel life is very chill. We make many friends in our hostels and most of our time is spent in the room of our friends, we study together, play games together, and have fun. Hostel life is very fun.

The classrooms contain all the required teaching facilities and modern infrastructure like projectors, air coolers, speakers, mics etc.Laboratories are specially built to support hands-on learning and practical work for each branches. Faculty to student ratio is also comparatively very high. We also have a hugh library which has books and journals on almost all topics and domains. It also provides a quiet and focused environment for studying. It has two floors. There are grounds and courts for sports like basketball, badminton, tennis, and others. Though the infrastructure for some sports like cricket and swimming is a little inadequate, I personally play football on the campus and the football culture and infrastructure is really good. The hostels are well-maintained, with regular cleaning and maintenance. Rooms are equipped with fans and LAN connections.There are multiple mess options, including North Indian, South Indian, non-vegetarian, and healthy/low-oil options, allowing students to choose according to their preferences. I eat in Yuktahar which provides healthy food options. We also have 4 canteens but the food is pretty average there. There is also one guest house for visitors.

The college campus is relatively small but it has many trees planted across the campus. It's green and peaceful. It is very serene and has a laid back vibe. Cute dogs also roam around the campus. My favorite dog is Gopi found near the Vindhya classrooms. Although the academics are very intensive and rigorous and students might face a little pressure in the first one or two semesters but later on they get accustomed to the life and it becomes normal. The crowd is very good; my friends are very hard working and talented. Seniors are also very supportive and helpful. There are also many clubs in our college like technology, entrepreneurship (E-Cell), robotics, music, dance, drama, comedy, anime, gaming, and even a queer club. The biggest annual fest is Felicity; a techno-cultural festival held in February. Other frequent events include inter-batch and inter-house sports competitions, music, dance, and drama competitions. Students can also participate in coding competitions, hackathons, and other technical events organised by the institute's tech teams and research labs.
