Cotton University is a well known University in Assam. The Cotton University was established in the year 1901 and from then till now, it’s one of the best Universities in Assam. It’s my privilege to be a part of Cotton University. Cotton University will surely give you a new life.

Cotton University provides many courses. I opted for BCA because of my interest in Computer science and Technology. For getting into Cotton University you have to give the entrance test, CUET and based on your CUET score, the merit list will be prepared. There is no specific stream for getting into BCA, no matters which stream you from are, and you can opt for BCA if you have interest in Computer Science and Technology. The only eligibility is you should pass 12th with 60 percent marks.

Cotton University's computer department has a list of engaging faculties. Every professor out there is best in their field. Our Hod is an M.Tech graduate with Ph.D holder in Computer Science. Not only their background but they are really best at teaching. They do make sure everyone out there understands every topic that is being taught in the classroom.

Yes, Cotton University has its placement Cell but it’s not that strong comparatively because maximum students studying at Cotton University goes for higher studies. There are big companies like TATA, RBI, etc that come to Cotton University during the placement session and students do get placed there with decent amount of package.

If you have hygiene problem then don’t opt for Cotton's hostel. The mess facility is ok but the overall environment of Cotton's hostel is very bad. But, the good part is Cotton's hostel will give a new life. Sometimes you'll feel like you're in NDA due to their restrictions. You'll have a specific uniform to walk inside the hostel. Every evening there's play time and you must play. Right after the play-time, comes the "pray-time", no matter where you come from, you'll have to pray. You'll just have to be sharp enough and strong enough to survive there.

Cotton University has a diverse and well-equipped campus that blesses historical charm with modern amenities. There are many buildings at Cotton University like the Main administrative building; it houses the vice-chancellor's office, administration offices and various departments. Then comes the BKB building that consists of several classrooms, lecture halls and faculty offices. Then comes the MM Choudhury building, it houses department such as English, history, politics, etc. Then comes the science block dedicated to science departments including physics, chemistry, botany and zoology. There are many other such buildings at Cotton University. Cotton University has its huge library; it’s the central feature, offering a vast collection of books, journals and digital resources. Other buildings and amenities include Hostels, Auditorium, Canteen and Cafeterias, Sports Complex, etc.

Cotton University has made its name in one of the best University in Assam but the campus life at Cotton University is of quiet boring because Cotton University. If you're looking for a college with beautiful campus then surely Cotton is not made for you. Cotton has its own musical fest named after "Abege". There are many clubs where you can join for your betterment, like the computer science students runs a club called "Codebytes". Every summer Cotton organise its varsity week where students participate in various games and various other things like Drama, Art, etc.
