GLS Institute of Design B.Des Review By Patel Vanshika

What made me choose GLSID is that it was a college that started in 2016 and it is in its growing stage. I knew if I would go here then there would be endless opportunities and possibilities awaiting there. As it is a growing institute their encouragement is just way different. When I went there for the first time the office staff was so kind and helpful. They gave us a glimpse of entire college and they showed us what it actually was. There was no fake side of it honestly. Though it is a small campus they had stuffed it with maximum things. Be it labs, classroom, and library, everything was just there in its perfect way.

So I enrolled here with a mindset of Interior Design but in foundation they gave us a glimpse of all the courses which made up a much clearer image of what I actually want to do. So I gave an entrance exam and an interview to get into the college. The eligibility was 12th pass and my motive to enroll here was that I just don't want to learn about interior but I also want to explore the other things as well.

The faculties here are just amazing. Talking about the director of the college he is super supportive and always interactive and approachable for the students. With his support we have participated in various competitions, celebrated many festivals and its fun. And talking about the other faculties everyone is very friendly and very helpful no matter what time or day it is whenever we approach them they are always there to help. No matter in which department you are all of them will guide you. Also a great thing is that there is no student faculty thing here they both learn from each other and grow.

Talking about placements they have really good tie ups with the industry and also the way they make us ready to approach the firm's is commendable. I have always seen my seniors chasing their dreams and doing an amazing job out there. And if you're truly sincere and hardworking you will definitely be in one of the best firms.

No there's no residential facility but they do have tie-ups with various hostels and all of them are amazing. I'm staying in the hostel they suggested me and I'm literally staying there till I graduate from this college. It's been 2 years since I'm there and for the coming years also I'll be there only. All the facilities are available like 4 meals namely breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. They have laundry facility too. Even the Wi-Fi and electricity bill is included in your rent and the rent is affordable and up to the service. Only the AC bill is excluded rest everything is included in the rent itself.

The campus is not very big but there are all the facilities available. They have 3 staffrooms, a fabrication lab, fashion lab, Mac lab, and windows lab. All the classrooms have AC's and are well lit and airy. There's an amphitheater too. The college has its own auditorium, gym and playground. The overall vibe is amazing and also the security there is commendable.

Talking specifically about GLSID they don't have any fests and days celebration. We celebrate festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Christmas, Pongal, and Navratri. Also we have an event called Mehfil where we come together, jam and have fun. The club's are active and they have dance, music, and drama and photography clubs. The crowd here is decent and the overall environment of the college is very safe. If it's raining heavily the faculties will make sure you reach home safely. And engagement in other activities like sports and stuff is also very good. Every day after 5 in the evening faculties and students together play badminton, volleyball, cricket, etc.
