New Alipore College B.Sc Review By Udita Kundu

New Alipore College is located in New Alipore which is easily accessible by students as it has a railway station nearby. The college’s ambiance is very good. The principal, teachers and staff members are very good and helpful. The college has a big library which allows students to read and learn about many new topics. The college also provides smart teaching. The college has an Anti Ragging and Women Protection Cell as well.

The course chosen by me is B.Sc (Hons.). New Alipore College provides various specializations in B.Sc (Hons.) for us to choose. All the courses are equally good. 12th pass out student with a minimum percentage of 60% can easily apply for these courses. Overall I would say, it is a fantastic course and you can definitely choose this course without any hesitation.

The Faculty members are helpful and very competent in teaching. They teaches us using smart boards and through videos. Individual attention is provided by the faculty members. Doubt clearing classes are organized before examinations. Faculty members are very friendly to the students. Many of the faculty members have completed Ph.D in their subjects.

Placements Cell is not present in our college as it is a Government aided College. But many hospitals, big institutes and companies conduct seminars in our college to teach students about various fields.

Typically hostel facilities are not provided by the college but our College Union members surely arrange PG (Paying Guest) facilities for the students who come to study in this college from various districts.

The Infrastructure of the college is well maintained. The college has CCTV’s all around ensuring full safety. The classrooms are very big and have projectors. There is a canteen that provides tasty food at a very reasonable price. There are common rooms for both boys and girls. We can play indoor games like table tennis and carom in those rooms. Huge library is present in the college which is easily accessible by the students. It has a large variety of books. Toilets are cleaned regularly and proper hygiene is maintained. Research rooms, seminar room, laboratories, etc. are well maintained.

The campus life is fantastic. There is a lot of greenery in the campus. There is a huge playground where we can play badminton, tennis, football and cricket. The college organizes Basant Utsav, Sarasvati Puja and College Fest every year which is enjoyed by all the students. Many famous artists and bands perform in the College fest. The college also organizes many competitions which are held in other college campuses. The college also conducts many programs for helping poor people, orphan children and old age people.
