Quantum University B.Tech Review By Shailly Pandey

I was a lateral entry student. I joined B tech CSE in the second year of B.Tech in this college. I have done my diploma in mechanical engineering. I thought it would be difficult for me to cope with the extremely new stream after doing my diploma from another stream. However, right from the admission process to the classroom, management of the college to professors, everyone was very helpful to me. This was among the first things that attracted me to this college. Also, before taking admission, I have come to know about this university from advertisements that used to run on televisions, newspapers, and pamphlets. Whatever was shown in the advertisements, half of them are strictly correct however, the rest of them are a bit exaggerated. This university comes among the best private universities of the state, Uttarakhand.

I was a diploma student of mechanical engineering, before joining this college. Therefore, I joined as a lateral entry student here in the B.Tech CSE (Lateral entry). At first, it was difficult for me to switch my specialization just like that, but as the pace of the course increased, I became familiar with the computer science branch, and I have covered the first year syllabus too within no time. The course here is taught in a very easy way by the professors. Before starting any course, the course instructor or the professor of that certain subject offers the course guidelines, which include all the prerequisites, reference books, and topics covered. These course guidelines had helped me so much in preparing my subjects thoroughly.

The quality and quantity of faculty in our college staff are both decent. During exams, most of the professors try to pass every student unless they have done extremely poorly. Exams are conducted by the ECD which stands for exam cell department of the college. There are three exams conducted every semester, the end SEM exam is also called the final exam. The subject coordinators themselves design all the exam papers, which eases the exam because most of the questions were already covered during the lectures. Even though exam papers generally repeat over the years, there are many students getting backlogs also.

The Placement record of this college is very good. Almost every student studying in this college backs a placement because numerous companies are coming here every year for recruiting fresh candidates. Also, there are many students here who have scored extremely well in other examinations like GATE, UPSC, and CAT. Companies that generally come here are Wipro, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Asian Paints, Berger Paints, Extramarks, and many more. Also, many students prepare throughout the course for the off-campus placements. There is a good history of students getting placed in high CTC jobs in numerous multinational companies. The least salary package you could expect from here is 3-4 LPA. However, CTC can go as high as 18 LPA.

My house was in the city itself; therefore, I didn't apply for the hostel. However, being a day scholar and not a hosteller is not as fun but it is still worth a shot.

The infrastructure of the Quantum University Roorkee is overall exceptionally well. Here are modern smart classrooms, well sanitized and designed corridors, numerous and vast sports areas, and a super tasty canteen. The infrastructure of the college is unbeatable. There is Wi-Fi that is offered to every student of the college studying there. One is given an id and password, which they receive after registering with their college id to access the college Wi-Fi. The college Wi-Fi provides 5GB of 4G data every day to students. Unlike other colleges, Sports teachers are also available here which boosts the active participation of the students. Other things such as every corridor, classroom, and wall of the college are well labeled, to guide anyone to reach their destined room.

Campus life at this college is something to look back at, there are so many memories we had made on the campus. Our college has provided us with beautiful campus life. One of them recalls that our college held Darohar, which was one of the biggest opportunities to participate in our passionate events and hobbies. That was a good platform to get creative. Other than this, Roorkee is a great place to hang out and go hiking. We have enjoyed the campus and more than that outside the campus. Also, there are several fests where you can participate and show off your skills, and if you wish not to participate then you can host that event. Both of them give us a chance to gain more experience and get better at our skills.
