The experiences I had at Hislop College

Overall Rating
If I have to summarize my review, it has its own pros and cons. I joined this college as I am doing a distance course and my college lectures are of only 4 hours, providing me enough time to focus on my professional course. If you are interested in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities, then I would highly recommend joining this college.
 

Academics Rating
The college is affiliated under RTMNU; therefore, the curriculum of RTMNU is followed. If I have to rate the toughness of my course (B.Com), I would give it a generous 6/10, as it is not that hard. Even the University set papers has a recurring pattern, and if you solve past 5 year papers, you can easily pass, but if you want your grades above 80, you will have gives a little bit of time to your studies every day.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty of Hislop College is very approachable, helpful, and attentive. Every professor has a good knowledge of their subject and takes time to help you understand every topic, paper pattern, questions, etc. Not only in academics, but they are also very encouraging when it comes to extra-curricular and co-curricular activities.
 

Placement Rating
The college has a placement cell, but the placements are not good here. The average salary of the recruitment opportunities that come in the college range from 2-4 lakh/annum. If you are interested in other professions which do not have academics as a prerequisite, then you may join this college.
 

Hostel Rating
The college only has a girl’s hostel. If you are a boy, you will have to find another pg/hostel or rent a room.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Hislop College is central India's oldest college, therefore, it has enough funding to provide sufficient infrastructure to students. The college has a Department of Science, Commerce, and Arts, an auditorium, gym, sports equipment, conference hall, skill development centers, classrooms with projector, Nagpur's biggest library in terms of books/records, etc. The college has many societies/cells. The college has a thriving culture of many co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. The highlight is 'Atheneum', central India's oldest society.
 

Campus Rating
Hislop College campus is good, but not to be compared with the colleges of Delhi and Mumbai. The Department of Biology conducts a flower show, which happens on the first Sunday of December, and many people come to see this. Half of the college is covered in greenery, and the college provides large space for activities.
