Raja Narendra Lal Khan Women's College (Autonomous), also recognized as Gope College or Raja Narendra Lal Khan Mahila Mahavidyalaya, is a women's undergraduate college located in Midnapore, West Bengal. It was founded in 1957. It is affiliated to Vidyasagar University. The college is ranked among the top 150 colleges in India by NIRF in 2021. The reason I choose this college to study in is the college campus is huge as anyone can ever imagine. Since the campus was previously the palace of the king of Gopegarh, the campus is surrounded by uncountable plants and trees. When exploring the campus one may feel they have entered any botanical garden. The admission process was very simple as in 2020 we had to fill the form online and everything was sorted by staying at home except the final admission which was conducted offline in the college campus with all the covid precautions maintained. The college management is very well trained and they are always ready to help the students whenever we face any difficulty on anything.

In RNLK women's College, I took the Economics major in B.Sc and I always wanted to study the subject from the best teachers. After joining the classes I realized that I got to the right place as the teachers are always helpful and expert in their subject. The eligibility criteria of my subject were a minimum of 45% in 10+2 with mathematics in 10th Madhyamik.

Some teachers are strict in classes, but outside they are nothing less than our seniors. I am confident that even we don't get our desired Job after studying Economics at this college; the teacher's guide will help a lot to learn and understand the subject. The teachers are very well trained and have the capacity of turning an average student into a good scholar.

We were told by the placement cell that 100% placement is unrealistic, so we must do our best. Overall, 60% of students in the senior batches claim to have been placed through campus recruitment. The college is among the best in the area so getting a job nearby is not a big deal. The top recruiters of our college are Vodafone, Google, Lave, Samsung, Coca Cola and a lot more.

I have been staying in the college hostel for a while and I can say the quality and services in the hostel are very low compared to the college. We have a total of 6 buildings in our college with unequal numbers of rooms. The sizes of the rooms are average and in a single room, they ask 4 students to stay. Even during the covid time, no social distancing was maintained and 4 students managed to live in a single room with all their belongings. The hostel provided single beds and a study table to every student and no space to keep their other things. The students need to manage their things on the small table or under their bed. When it comes to food, it is worst, Even they provide veg options for vegetarians, the quality is never okay. Several students complain about their illness caused by eating hostel foods. During mealtime, we have to make a line and collect our food from the workers assigned for the job. The food is tasteless and sometimes we get no alternative. After a few days, I started to eat in my own room preparing my meals. The admission fee of the hostel is Rs 5000, and every month students have to pay extra Rs. 2000.

The college has two campuses, one at Gope Palace with an area of 46.86 acres and another at Rabindranagar. The main building of the college is Gope Palace Campus, where all routine courses are hosted. The Rabindranagar Campus is solely for administrative purposes at NSOU. Every department has its own small libraries and a central library is present a huge amount books available. The campus contains 2 canteens, one good and another below average. A medical unit is present where qualified doctors are always present to handle any emergency cases.

Overall experience in my college has been awesome till now. The college ends after 4:30 and hostel dwellers get to explore the place till night. The teachers are always friendly and never deny helping anyone in need, be it about academics or anything else. Sports are given good importance in the campus which is one of the best things I liked about the college, As per the seniors, fests and celebrations are always conducted to light up the mood of the students from the pressure of study.
