Raiganj Surendranath College is one of the most popular colleges situated at Raiganj, North Dinajpur. It was founded on 21st October 1986. This year our college is going to complete its 38th year. Though it was not in my first preference but I don’t regret studying here. The campus is beautiful and clean located in the prime location of Raiganj and it is developing everyday in supervision of our principal sir.

Raiganj Surendranath College provides lots of UG courses B.A (General) and (Hons.) Specialisations like: Economics, English, Sanskrit, Bengali, Education, Physical Education, Philosophy, Sociology, Geography, Polity, History, B.Sc (Genral) and (Hons.), Specialization: Zoology, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Mathematics, and Statistics. The admission process is very simple like other colleges. It is based on merit (HS MARKS) (reservation policies are applicable). There is also option of doing UG / PG from open schooling. It is one of the most popular student’s favorite colleges under Gourbanga University. The labs are well maintained with modern equipment and the Library is also great. It has books of all type like competitive exam, etc. It also has a Reading Room attached.

The faculty members of Raiganj Surendranath College are highly qualified and experienced in their respective field and they are always available to help. The professors provide best possible materials made by them and when in doubt, they will clear it one by one. The faculty members are very friendly. Due to their friendly nature they are well connected with the students.

No, our college doesn’t have any active placement cell but people here have attained the position of government employee. Our college launched many skill enhancement courses to make us job ready and also it provides opportunity of serving to the Alumnus.

No, our college doesn’t have hostel facility. People here apply for Govt. Hostels at District Magistrates Office.

As our campus is not that big, wouldn’t say it has some great aesthetic architecture. It has separate classrooms for all departments, separate and enough number of labs, two hall rooms and one air conditioned auditorium. The library is loaded with books of all genre (i.e. fictions, non fictions, magazines). To widen our knowledge, which is our college's ultimate motive. We have two canteens also and they serve good food at reasonable price.

There are many sub- genres to explore in cultural (Dance, Debate, Literary Societies, etc) and sports. One might join and represent our college in inter college events. Crowd here is disciplined and peaceful. Yes there is a Student Wing that works a lot for student’s welfare. They are very friendly and supportive. We have a sports grounds where one can play football, cricket or kho kho. We all with the help of our student wing organize an annual fest named "PRAGATI". We are Two days fully packed with different cultural programmers, lots of fun and a Inter Dept. Exhibition. In winners we get felicitated in last day and during closing ceremony we have a open air concert. The crowd around is great and friendly. We also have an anti ragging cell.
