Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology was established in 2005. It is not a government institute; it is a private institute which comes under the JIS group. Some courses of this institution are autonomous and the college comes under the Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT). However this was not my first choice because of the fees structure which is pretty high than other colleges but this is the best private institute for Pharmacy courses. This college is situated in the North 24 pgs district and the campus is very big and there is a lot of greenery and playing grounds in the campus. The college also have a NIRF raking - 74 for the year 2024.

This institution provide various courses in various fields like Diploma in Pharmacy , B.Pharm, M.Pharm and different bachelors courses like B.Sc Microbiology, B.Sc Biotechnology, B.Sc Hospital Management, BMLT, etc. Eligibility criteria for pharmacy courses is you have to take science in class 11-12 and then appear for the entrance exam which can be WBJEE or JEE Mains and if anyone wants to take admission after the diploma in pharmacy which is in B Pharm lateral then they have to appear for WB JELET. After appearing for the exams and scoring a good rank anyone can easily get admission in this college.

Most of the faculties of Guru Nanak Institute are highly educated and experienced in their respective fields and most of them are Ph.D holders. This institute gives chance to freshers also for teaching purposes. Many of them are extremely helpful and their teaching methods are also very organic which helps us to understand easily and they helps to clear all kind of doubts. They provide the most and the best type of study materials which are very beneficial for us. They give many assignments to understand the class work and also to practice questions for the semesters. The labs are well equipped and we also have lab assistants for any type of doubt. The students also have mentors who guide them and help them in any matter whether it is related to studies or other college issues.

Yes, we do have a placement cell in our institute and the teachers of training and placement cells are extremely helpful and they tries to help every student who is in need of job opportunities. Almost 70% students get placed at various industries, pharmaceutical companies and other companies like Wipro, Nestlé, etc. Also there is an alumni association which interacts with the students and gives them advice.

There are hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The girl’s hostel name is Satnam Kaur Girls Hostel which is inside of the campus and for boys there are 2-3 hostels which are outside and inside of the campus. Girls have a different mess for dinning and boys have a mess which is also used as the college canteen. The Girls Hostel is a bit strict and follows many rules and regulations. Infrastructure is nice there are rooms which can be shared between 2, 3 or 4 peoples according to the student’s accommodation.

Guru Nanak Institute has four different colleges - Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Sciences and Research, Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology, Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management, and Guru Nanak Institute of Technology. Four of them have very big campus although the colleges have one campus but there is distance between the colleges and there is no link between the colleges. The infrastructure is nice; the building consists of 3 floors excluding the ground floor. The institute has a lift, library, different labs for different subjects, a very big seminar hall, classrooms for different departments, a college canteen, playground, and many more facilities.

Campus life is very good. There is a very good bonding between seniors and juniors. There are many activities like different types of clubs like Culture Club, Sports Club, NDLI Club, Eco Club, Photography Club, etc. The college also organises fest every year and there are different types of competition like - sports, quiz, singing, dancing, recitation, model representation, etc. The college organises many seminars for increasing the student’s knowledge. Overall the campus life is fun and enjoyable here.
