Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital as it was called before comes under the Sambalpur University, Odisha. The college sprawls within an area 21 acres. It is a growing institute and first in Balangir. The college is located in a serene and calm area. The town is located at 5km distance. You can find government bus service.

The college offers MBBS and DMLT/DMRT courses. I got enrolled in the MBBS course after clearing the national level entrance test i.e. NEET. You need to be having your 12th pass certificate and marks certificate to be eligible to sit in the examination. I have always aspired to be a doctor and getting a government seat is one of the toughest accomplishments one can achieve in India. After the completion of 4.5 years of study, you need to do internship under the same college for a period of one year. After the successful completion of which, you shall get your degree certificate. Currently, the NEXT system of examination will bring some reformations to this curriculum. It is still not clear from the officials end.

Though the college which was estd in 2018 is apparently new, the teachers here hail from high profile background with a lot of knowledge and experience. Every teacher focuses on practical knowledge more than your theory knowledge. So you can excel here with the guidance of teachers.

There are adequate number of practical classes and hospital visits. You need to be regular from your end. The hospital visits starts from the second year of MBBS course. Presently, our college has got 100 seats for MBBS course admission.

Currently there are two hostels in our campus, one each for UG girls and UG boys. Each room can accommodate 3 students with separate beds, study table and chair, and cupboards. There is a common spacious bathroom with washing machines available in each floor. Besides there is mess facility in each of the hostels. Other than this, there is a fast food corner and interns' hostel mess where you can visit in the morning and evening hours. The quality of food is good. There are security services outside UG girls' hostel 24/7. Per year hostel fees ranges from Rs. 8,000-Rs. 10,000.

The infrastructure is one of the most beautiful and spacious with lots of facilities and the touch of nature beauty. Each hostel has a Gym facility for the students. There is a newly created park with lawn where you can stroll during the evening hours. There is calmness and peace. The academic and administrative buildings are at walking distance from the hostels. Each floor is dedicated to one or more particular course/s. You can anytime visit the library and spend studying in a silent environment. The classrooms are huge with smart boards and air-conditioning. There are 2 buses under our college. There is a fully air-conditioned auditorium which can accommodate around 500 students at once. Our campus is a favorite place for morning and evening walk lovers. Get out of your books and hostel room and enjoy the breeze. One of the highlights of our college campus is the art gallery named "IRIS" which was inaugurated in 2021 annual function event. The art gallery is the hard work of our students, teachers, and practicing doctors who worked day and night to make it a success. The art gallery has got great applauses from our Balangir District Collector and Superintendent of Police who were the chief guests of Annual fest Eve.

My overall campus life had been exciting, revealing, and stressful (just because of the exams part, just joking). I have learnt so much and still learning a lot. There are sports and cultural programs celebrated with full enthusiasm and joy. As every college has, we also have a strong student union body which takes the responsibilities of organising all the programmes. There are annual fests, academic get-togethers, and many more to enjoy your life. We do bonfires and batch picnics and parties to bust out our tensive lives. Here we celebrate festivals and patriotic days too. Every year our college publishes its own magazine which includes the work of our teachers, students, and practicing doctors.
