First of all D.H.S.K College is one of the backbone institution for education in upper assam. Many famous personalities in Assam have been an alumni of this college. So when it was my turn to choose a college for my higher studies D.H.S.K College was the first name that came to my mind. My experience till now has been a great one. Starting from educational knowledge to literature this College has it all. One can showcase their hidden talent and also voice their opinion on important matters. So if anyone wants to maintain a good study life along with fun and fests this college is a good choice.

D.H.S.K College is an Arts and Science College. It also has BCA course. There are departments starting form Physics, Chemistry etc. in Science Course to History, Sociology etc in Arts. The College is an Undergraduate College but some departments offer Post Graduate course too. This includes Physics, Assamese, English and Life Science. For UG, students must have minimum first divison to enroll in the College. Though under some circumstances it may go a bit low. They can enroll under BPL or APL category which ensures all students can accomplish their wish for studies.

The course I have chosen is Physics. The faculty members have good knowledge, with few proffesors having a Doctorate degree. They teach from Classical Mechanics to Quantum mechanics. They have wide knowledge in their field and make sure that students understand each point properly. There is also availability of Smart Board which makes visual learning possible. The teachers provide proper notes on each topic that are helpful in University Exam as well as Entrance exam. There are also Class Test that are taken at a regular interval.

The Campus has building blocks for all departments. There are two open garden in the front, once you enter the college. It has all kinds of flowering plants and trees. Adjacent to the two gardens are Auditorium and Parking lot for teachers as well as students. Near the Auditorium you will find the College Canteen. Near to the Teachers parking lot there is a book Stall and a Print out Stall making college life easier and smooth for the students. The starting block is the Faculty rooms for the Arts department and also the principals Conference Hall. We can enter from two ways the left leading to the Science Block and the right leading to the Arts department classes as well as Office room. There are also well maintained labs available for the Science course with modern equipments. At last we have the College Field which hosts various sports of the Annual College week. There is also the Boys and Girls Hostel Available at the left end and right end of the Colllege.

The overall campus life is very joyous and pleasant to us. The campus is always filled with students either going for their next classes or chilling with their friends under the shade of the huge trees inside the campus. The canteen, book stall and Print out Stall makes sure we get everything inside the campus. There are Eco Clubs, NCC, Sports club as well as various other clubs availbale. There is a General Freshers event for new coming students which invites a prominent and famous singer each year. There is also departmental freshers for each department. There are frequent events that happens in the campus including seminars, talent hunt, important days that are celebrated, etc. The college also host the promotion of new Assamese movies that comes out. There is also a yearly College event as well as departmental picnic organized. Overall the campus life of D.H.S.K is very cheerful and always filled with activeness.
