ISI Kolkata - My Dream Institute

Overall Rating
The experience here is very good. The main focus of this institute is on teaching and it does not focus much on other activities. I was having a chance of getting a seat at a NIT in the CS but I preferred this due to its excellent teaching faculties. The curriculum here is very good and the environment is also very friendly.
 

Academics Rating
I enrolled in the Bachelors of Statistics and Data Science course which is a very new course. The requirements are not much. You have to give an entrance exam which you have to qualify and get a good rank, enough to come in the merit and then it is followed by counseling. The entrance exam comprise of only math questions, so it is pretty easy. There is no interview or other requirements.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty here is of top notch quality. The professors here have experience of teaching in worldwide famous institutes including those of Stanford, Harvard, etc. they have a wide experience of teaching and also they use new and innovative methods to help students understand the concepts. They also help you by solving all our doubts and the pace of teaching is also very normal.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, placements are offered at our institute. Generally, the students of the masters sit for the placements but bachelors are also allowed. The placement record here is also very good, with up to 100% placement. The highest package here was 89 LPA. They generally get jobs in banking, finance and other core sectors.
 

Hostel Rating
No, there are no hostel facilities for our course.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure here is very good. The buildings are well maintained. There is proper cleanliness and hygiene maintained. There is a vast library of three floors which contains more than a lakh books, journals and other research papers for the help of students. There is also an e-library facility.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is pretty monotonous because throughout the semester, the major focus is on academics, which is good, but dull. The fest is held generally in January each year, which is an event of about 4-5 days. The gender ratio here at this institute is very low, so the social life is also average.
