Kingston Engineering College B.Tech Review By Pavithra M

I have done my B.Tech IT from Kingston Engineering College. This is the best college in Vellore affiliated to Anna University which has with good infrastructure and atmosphere. It is also affiliated to NBA. The college provides admission through Anna University counseling and management schemes. 75% of the students from Tamil Nadu and 25% of the students from Andhra specially Chitoor fill the admission. The management is good and very supportive to the students and their future. I was happy with my college life and learnt much more than I expected. My parents also were much satisfied with the college and their efforts.

I joined in the department of computer science engineering. It was my passion and my parents dream to become a software engineer and so I joined in CSE. The syllabus and the subjects were framed by Anna University. Apart from those subjects college also conduct many value added courses which supported us in many ways. They frequently conduct many workshops, guest lecturers, hands on sessions for the students as well as for faculty to improve our skills and keep updated. The college also provides us many interactive sessions where the industrial people visit and teach us on the new technology of the industries.

All the faculty were really good and experienced. They have good research experience. We also had few regular visiting faculty from good institutions. The faculty are very kind and helpful. The faculty also undergo training from the industry people and other research personnel. They also undergo various faculty development programs conducted by other universities and organization. On the average faculty has an experience of 8 years. Few faculty has industrial experience also. Faculty development courses included student counseling, question paper setting, research methodology and much more. Overall the faculties are good and train the students for the better future of students.

Kingston has good placement records. This is the most important thing why my parents have chosen this college for me. We have top MNC companies coming for campus interview with average of about 4.5L per annum as the package. They also provide placement training from pre-final year which really helped us to face the interview better. I got selected in a top MNC with 5.5L per annum. I was so happy with and as my parents also were so happy with my job.

Hostel facilities are also good here. Boys and girls hostels are separate with healthy and quality food. The rooms are clean and neat. Sports courts are also present inside the hostel. The cleaning of the room is done every day. The security service is present for 24/7. We had outing on Sundays. Hostel is much safe for girls. Study hour is given at night.

The infrastructure is big and spacious. The classroom is also big and spacious with good lightening and air. Every class had smart board too. The laboratories were well equipped with all needed instruments. Library contains plenty of books for all subjects and also for other exam preparation. We can refer those books for exam preparation. Digital library also us for the access of journals and e-books. Play ground is also huge and spacious for outdoor games. They also provide medical help and first aid for emergency. College also arrange for free medical camps, blood donation camp and counseling session for students.

My college life was much memorable one in my life. We enjoyed in our college so much. We had lot of celebration and other club activities like youth red Cross, women's empowerment activities, environment day, and much more. We often had competition like paintings, poster making, food carnivals, rangoli, speech, elacutions, poem writing etc., We had cultural and festivals where we enjoyed with events to celebrate our other curricular activities. There were mentoring classes where faculties teach us some values for life and also talk with us personally for our further growth. The campus life in Kingston was much better and interesting.
