The only reason I chose 'LNMU' for MBA was the fees. It’s safe to say that they didn’t charge any fees. Because what they charged was not worth a dinner at an exclusive restaurant. So, at that price expecting placements would be foolish. But the University holds a great importance in Darbhanga and rather Bihar. My home was 60 miles away. Yet I stayed at the hostels. As I have always believed that tough times create strong men. And after leading a tough life at the University, one thing that I know with myself is that I have been made tough. For that, I am thanking LNMU and that’s why I am writing a review of this University. As I could see no one has written about this great University. Which was started, because the king of the City wanted to have a world-class University in his state.

People have made it what it is today. Because the trustees of the University kept a check on the faculty, but not on the students. Students hardly came to class as our strength was 240 and 40 were regular. I was in that 40, and after studying here, I easily found a job in Noida. And like me all those 40 who were regular. Today when I saw my colleagues talking about the exposure that they got, well we got nothing. Academics here was reading the books and understanding the topics. The course was up to date as theoretically, we were taught almost every single thing. That is being taught in top B-Schools of the country.

Faculties were good but some non-serious types too were there. Try to be sweet to them as much as you can. Because most professors who taught were the ones who used to set the question papers. I understand B-Schools should never have such things. But 'LNMU' is nowhere close to a B-School as their MBA program was more of a self-study program.

Our MBA building never had any guest lectures or even talk on placements. So, the placement scenario here was a sorry looking one but no complaints with that.

The University was under the king of Darbhanga. The land, in which the College is constructed, was gifted by the king so that people of Darbhanga can study there. The University’s best College is 'Kameshwar Singh Sanskrit College'. There’s also a 'Kali Mata Temple', inside the campus. I don’t know of any College that has a helipad, but LNMU has that feature too. There are around 8-10 buildings inside the University campus. There’s also a 'Manokamna Temple', which is right next to our department building. The library building was medium sized, with a collection of over 50k books. The canteen was next to the library and is called the library canteen. The campus is open for all, and you will see many outsiders too, having food there. The College ground 'Raj Maidan' has seen many politicians. Carrying out their rallies on that ground. Our honorable CM 'Nitish Kumar' and PM 'Narendra Modi' too have carried out their rallies there. Inside the campus, there’s a lake and rental paddle boats are also available there. We saw many tourists coming there in numbers, during weekends. There are small mansions built inside the campus, where many priests and faculty used to stay. The newly constructed Science and Arts building is outside the campus. The Science College is near Darbhanga tower and the Arts College is near Neem Chowk in Urdu Bazar. The campus connects many areas of the city. And there are as many as six entry points of the campus, out of which only two are operational.

There are only boy’s hostels at the campus. There are 6 boy’s hostels inside the campus. Most departments have their own hostels. Like the 'Sanskrit College' has its own hostels. Sanskrit College Hostel is the best hostel in the campus, as it was renovated a few years ago. Boys have to be back to their hostels by 8 pm or their parents are called if the students fail to report on time. The hostel mess serves only vegetarian food. As there are many temples inside and non-veg is completely banned at the campus. There was a sweet shop, close to the hostel and a police station some distance away. The one drawback of the hostel was that things used to get stolen. And the police station was always busy. Close to our hostel building there was a statue of 'Maharaja Laxmeshwar Singh'. And that is how we used to identify our hostels. Initially because the campus is so huge, one can easily get lost in it.

The University campus is the biggest tourist spot in the city. The ice-cream peddlers and shops inside the campus remained open till 11 pm. Thus, for all our needs, we never had to go anywhere as everything was available inside the campus. The campus though is not small. I had my own bike, as some shops were almost a kilometer away from our academic building or the hostel building.
