Thakur College of Science and Commerce: A Good College for Gaining Education

Overall Rating
The college offers a great opportunity for students to excel. Since the college is autonomous, they set syllabus which is relevant to industry standards, making the students highly competitive for the employment market. The infrastructure of the college is great and offers sound amenities to the students. Faculties are well knowledgeable and contribute to the overall development of the students. The fees are a bit exorbitant compared to other B.Com colleges but keeping the facilities offered in mind, it's worth the cost.
 

Academics Rating
The course of B.Com in this college is set as per the industry standards. Any person who has cleared the HSC exam can get in. There are approximately 1300 seats in the B.Com course and hence to fill those seats, everyone gets an admission easily. There is no entrance exams for this course or any cut off too. I wished to learn more about the commercial subjects and hence I joined this institute.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are knowledgeable and most of them have experience of 10-15 years in teaching. The minimum qualifications of the faculties are Masters and some even possess Ph.D. My class teacher in the final year was pursuing Ph.D and later was bestowed the doctorate. Teaching methods are very similar to school structure, every student is monitored, and in some cases even notebooks are checked. Electronic means are usually not utilized.
 

Placement Rating
They have a placement cell but it is not quite active. There are many placements ranging in the pay grade of 3-4 lakh per annum. On the higher side, no placements are offered.
 

Hostel Rating
There are some paid hostels nearby which can be utilised. One can rent a flat with other students and split the bills.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of this college is much better than other colleges. The classrooms are spacious and well ventilated. The library is quite resourceful, canteen offers snacks and meals at an affordable rates. The auditorium is on the 5th floor, it’s relatively smaller compared to the enormous size of the college. Lifts are operating but students cannot use them.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is sound, to pass time the college campus is the best place to hang but in terms of productivity, college offers very less. There are no active clubs other than NCC and NSS, stalling extracurricular development. With respect to crowd, it's a mixed crowd. The student has to decide whom they wish to be associated with.

    I studied in the Thakur College of Science and Commerce, Mumbai for 3 years and passed out in the year 2022. I got my placement by the college itself. This is one of best colleges I have ever seen as I got placement from here and along with me 20 other students also got placed. My annual income is 6 LPA.
