Student’s Life at THDC Institute of Hydro Power Engineering and Technology

Overall Rating
The nature around THDC Institute of Hydro Power Engineering and Technology is very attractive and pollution free. The campus is crowd free and is a very quiet place. This institute is situated in mountain and only a few institutes are situated at these locations. The entire faculty is well qualified and supportive in nature. Institute is very good in infrastructure wise.
 

Academics Rating
I choose Computer Science Engineering branch because it is very trending and helpful in securing a job in current situation. For taking admission in THDC Institute of Hydro Power Engineering and Technology you have to first give competitive engineering exam i.e. JEE or CUCET. Mainly exams are held in semester end and class tests are also conducted 2 times and attending them is necessary. Academics do not prepare you much for real-life challenges as the challenges that come in real life are totally different from academics.
The fees criteria here are semester wise and it's Rs. 53,200 in first semester and Rs. 47,699 in second semester. Scholarships are also provided to the eligible students at THDC Institute of Hydro Power Engineering and Technology.
 

Faculty Rating
All the faculty members are not same, some are supportive and some are not supportive, but all are well qualified. The background of faculty members is also good enough. Faculty use blackboard and ppts for better understanding of the topic. Some faculty members are very good in problem solving or some faculty has less problem solving abilities. A teacher to student ratio in institute is about 50:500. My Bonding with faculty members is good enough.
 

Placement Rating
Placement cell in THDC Institute of Hydro Power Engineering and Technology is not very active. There is placement cell in our institute that helps students acquire job in industry. Package offered by some companies is about 3,50,000 per year.
 

Hostel Rating
Our institute has total 3 hostels having around 80 to 100 room in each of hostel. Girls and boys hostels are separated. Mess food is not so good. Hostel fee is Rs. 25,000 including mess charges.
 

Infrastructure Rating
All the academic books are available in library. Campus academic block is well structured and classes are also separate of different year students. And there are different departments with separate building. Sport facility is not that good but institute provides good gym facilities. Canteen is also there which provides different meals on affordable prices. My favorite thing in Institute is library and canteen. Class’s infrastructure like tables, chairs and blackboard whiteboard and smart board all are available in institute classes.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is average. Institute’s crowd is very less around 700 students are there in our institute. there are many clubs present in THDC Institute of Hydro Power Engineering and Technology like entrepreneur club, cultural club, literature club, sports clubs, etc. Fest and events also organised in institute. Campus life is average because there are mountains all around. But the overall environment and view here is amazing.

    THDC IHET is the only engineering Institute in Tehri Garhwal. It carries the name of THDC, the great Indian PSU that developed India's highest rock fill dam, Tehri Dam. The college didn't live up to the expectations. I graduated 12th in 2020 and due to Covid-19, I chose a college near my hometown of Tehri along with my friend.
