Admission at SVVU Tirupati through AP EAPCET

Well, joining in Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University was definitely not in my hands. We should have to go through process of counseling so that we can join this University. Firstly let’s go through the admission process and then my overall summary. There is an examination conducted by the government of Andhra Pradesh called as AP EAPCET. Scoring good marks and securing a rank under 5,000 would help us to join this University. We will be allotted some Universities among the ones offered based on our rank and merit. Being in a veterinary course feels amazing of course and the overall experience here is good. The University is situated in the city and nearer to all the facilities for a student. With a good environment and good faculty, this place would be a paradise for someone who wishes to gain knowledge about veterinary science.

The course chosen by me is B.V.Sc. I chose this chose with passion to treat animals. Candidates should be passed out of class 12 and should write an entrance test to enter this course. Admission process is through a counseling process conducted by the government of Andhra Pradesh. The exams are conducted thrice a year known as internals and also there will be an external final exam held at the end of the academic year. The academic schedule and the type of preparation for the students include all the practical examinations which help us them to endure real life challenges and queries.

The fee structure is around Rs. 60,000 per year which includes the tuition fees and the hostel fees. There won't be any discounts provided in fees but there will be scholarship provided for economically backward students and minority category students. You'll get around Rs. 25,000 of scholarship.

The faculty members are highly educated and well renowned. They are all doctorate holder and enthusiastic enough to share their knowledge with the students. The most important and funny thing is that most of the professors have studied in the same University so they would surely be knowing a lot about the University and would be so helpful to you in your academics and as well as some office works. They are very supportive and helpful to all the students. The method of teaching is both through blackboard and PPT method. Group discussions, quiz, practical would also be held. There teacher-student ratio is 1:30.

There are very few government placements in this field. Currently doing a private job is more wealthier and comfortable for a veterinary graduate than waiting for a government job. The average package offered by the government job is nearly Rs. 30,000 per month and in private clinics it would be around 30k for a graduate and 50k for a master's student.

The residential campus is really big and with huge infrastructure. A room will be allotted as 3 per room. The girls and boys hostels are separate. The mess food is good but you can't expect much from government hostels. For boys there are no timings for the hostel. But for girls the gates will be closed after 7pm.

The campus has 3 academic blocks and is divided based on the departments. Block consists of 3 departments each and there is a TVCC (Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex) building where the animals are treated and internship program would be carried out along with the final year students practicing their knowledge practically. Canteen is waste of time to mention with its worst and least menu. The sports complex is good with nice facilities and equipment for the students to practice. There are 4 courts which can be used for volleyball, badminton, tennis, basketball court and an indoor badminton court to practice as well. A huge ground which stands for cricket and football players.

University comprises of totally 600 students almost which includes the PG students as well. The University faculty would round up around 200 members and we have a dairy farm for all the student needs and practices. No, there aren’t any clubs but there is a group called NSS in the University administration. There are annual events of University organized like University day and fresher’s day. Inter University and inter University championship is also conducted every year. My overall campus experience is good but can't rank it to excellence.
