Admissions, Courses, and Fees: Guide to PCCOER Pune

My experience at Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering and Research has been very good so far. The college is located in PCMC Pune and has ample facilities around the college campus. The surrounding is pleasant and clean, overall decent. I chose this college due to its excellent academic and career oriented approach. Many friends and seniors from my college told me that other colleges have bad teaching and bad crowd that is not good in student’s life. Hence, these are some of the factors, which made me choose this particular college. This college has excellent facilities and infrastructure for research and other opportunities, unlike other colleges.

I chose Computer Engineering course because of my interest in Computer field. I want to do further research in Computer field and improve daily lives through computer. Hence, I enrolled in this course. Entry requirements/eligibility is students require above 45% in their board exams along with a good score in entrance exams like JEE or MHTCET. JEE and MHTCET exams are most commonly used ways of taking admission in this college. Admission process in my college is pretty easy and straightforward. One has to carry their respective documents, fill forms related to college and university, submit the college fee, and take the receipt. It is as simple as that, hardly took an hour for the process. We have exams in every 1 or 2 months in our college. First, we have unit test, after which end semester exams are conducted by the university affiliated with our college. The academics in our college prepares us for real life challenges as they help us to deal with doing more study in less amount of time. It helps us to increase our efficiency and overall performance in the future.

Every year, we must pay Rs. 1,34,366 as college fee for this course for General category. Development fee for my college is Rs. 16,956, Admission fee for my college is Rs. 1,100 and all the remaining is a tuition fee. Categories like OBC, SC, ST, and NT get scholarships based on their family income. In addition, if we score more than 60% in semester exams, we get 20% discount in college fee.

Faculty members in our department are extremely helpful and address our doubts in a timely manner. We have one of the best faculty members in any Engineering colleges around Pune. Our faculty members are having more than 15 to 20 years of experience in teaching field and most of them are in the college for more than 10 years. Our faculty is very experienced and dedicated to help students grow better in their career and understand subjects properly. Our teachers use PPTs and blackboard for teaching during the lecture. The notes are displayed on smart board. I like this method of teaching. The faculty members try their best to solve student problems and doubts. They are available in the college even after college hours to specifically help students. We have a very good teacher to student ratio in our college. We have around 2 teachers for 120 students in our college. Hence, ample amount of attention can be paid for individual growth and clarity. Our faculty members are very approachable and the experience has been very good overall.

PCCOER Pune has a dedicated Training and Placement cell, which is hardworking to ensure that students receive best offers from top companies around the world. Our training and placement cell has more than 10 years of experience in the engineering industry and connects with insiders to understand industry requirements. Our training and placement cells help the students to acquire jobs in the industry by helping them with coding rounds, group discussion, and aptitude tests. It organizes placement drives, which help students to maximize their potential to get a job in the industry according to their needs. Many well-known companies like Infosys, Accenture, Microsoft, Google, KPIT, and Barclays often visit our campus to offer packages to students and hire candidates. These companies have been visiting our college since the past 10 years consecutively. Highest package in our college was begged by our senior, which offered around 1.25 CPA. Many students from our college have been placed with high packages like 50 LPA and above in top companies. Our college has around 95% placement record, which helps students to be employed and use their skills after pursuing their degree. Average package in my college is around 5 to 7 LPA. all the candidates are placed in top companies in the country.

Our college offers residential facilities like college hostel. We have around 25 rooms in the college hostel, which is quite less and not enough to accumulate all the college students. Hence, most students prefer to live in private hostels or PGs. We have around 100 to 150 students staying at the hotel with good facilities like Wi-Fi and study stable. Our college hostel also has sports setup to relax students after lectures. We have separate hostels for boys and girls at our college. Mess food in our college is fine, the hygiene is decent, and the food is reliable. It' not bad like other college mess. Hostel fees are around Rs. 1,25,000 per annum. We have strict rules at the Hostel, no one is allowed to go outside after 10 PM for both boys and girls.

Our campus consists of two buildings. Each building has five floors in total. One floor is allotted to each department. We have college canteen at ground floor along with indoor game arena at the top most floor of the college. The campus size is small, but it is enough to accommodate all the students. Although, I would say that the campus could have been bigger considering the area lying around the college. The campus is situated in Urban Residential area. we have library, seminar hall, and conference hall in PCCOER Pune dedicated for students and faculty members. We also have a huge canteen with wide variety of food options. We have a ground in our college, where students play sports like Cricket and Volleyball. My favorite place of the college infrastructure is the indoor sports room situated at the top of the building. It offers indoor games like Carom and Table Tennis to relax our minds after a hectic day full of lectures. We have smart boards in our classroom along with experienced faculty members, which enhanced my overall academic experience at my college.

Campus life in PCCOER Pune is overall fine. Crowd in my college is very good and all of them are academically oriented with a deep focus on their career. I like the crowd in my college. My college has many clubs ranging from technical clubs, art clubs to racing clubs. Everyone is free to join a club of their choice and pursue their field of interest. Clubs help us to gain more experience and have fun in college life. We have various placement drives and extracurricular activities organized for social gatherings. We donate to the needy and sometimes urge people to vote during elections. Our college has fests and annual events like ‘Expression’ and ‘Navdhara’ event. 'Expression’ is a general event for singing and dancing, while ‘Navdhara’ is a technical event, which fosters competition between students of various Engineering colleges around Pune. These events are fun and help us to gain additional knowledge and experience. Overall, I have a decent campus life at my college. The campus is small but ample enough for everyone. The weather around the campus is pleasant and chill, boosting overall experience of the campus life.
