An underrated collage in Chikmagalur

Overall Rating
Its affiliated to one of the best university in Karnataka (VTU). It’s located in a lovely place Chikmagalur, and very easy to access for rural areas around Chikmagalur that too at an affordable cost. Admissions are done through college management and also through CET. There are really good eating places where they serve really good and delicious food. It is a really good option for people who are searching for courses at affordable costs.
 

Academics Rating
I chose Electronics and Communication Engineering course because of my strong interest in technology, electronics, and communication systems. Admission can be made through management seat or through CET. There are 3 internals and an external examination every semester of 6 months. Anyone with a Diploma in Engineering field or 12th pass from any board can get admission. Academics prepare us for a good job anywhere.
Rs.6,00,000/- is tuition fee Rs.2,80,000/- hostel fee Rs.12,000/- total examination fee and Separate charges for hall ticket, uniform, lab manuals, bus service of Rs.10,000/-, Wifi Rs.2,500/- and Miscellaneous Rs.15,000/-. Scholarship from state government for SC/ST students isRs.1,20,000/- every year and general category Rs.18,000/- every year.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty is not very good. There are inexperienced lecturers, but also very good old professors. For every teacher there are nearly 50 students. Problem solving capability of lecturers is moderate and not very good nor very bad either. They are very approachable as many are old and wise people, but also some are young and inexperienced. Most of Faculty members are local people who speak local language and a lot of them are married and good.
 

Placement Rating
Placements are moderate compared to really good engineering colleges. Lot of people get placed every year with an average pay of Rs.6.00 LPA. Usually people get placed in tech firms located in Bangalore. Usual companies are TCS, Accenture, TVS, etc. Highest is Rs.12.00 LPA and average is Rs.6.00 LPA. Nearly 50 percent of students get placed.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes hostel is good specially food. Non-veg food and eggs are served once in a week and a sweet too. Washroom quality is not bad and the rooms are very good except there are no fans in rooms. Security is excellent although not very satisfying for Rs.70,000/- per year hostel fee.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is too small to roam around. There should have been more space and more playgrounds. The bus service and Wifi are awesome, the canteen is really good. The greenery in the college is very beautiful to watch and playgrounds are really nice. Playing here in local weather is very good. This place has really good library which can issue books related to all type of courses. The conference hall is huge as it can accommodate 1500 people.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is over all good but not too good because the campus is too small to roam around. There are playgrounds of limited size. College conducts many sporting events, singing, dancing, art, puzzles, brainstorming activity, quizzes etc. Every year the college fest is held, where it is awesome for everyone and it is very colorful and awesome. Campus life is good with enough friends around you. There are no clubs around here also no alcohol or anything allowed.

    I am Alok Raj I am studying in AIT Chikkamagalur BE course with CSE stream. About the college, a great college with great atmosphere. The lecturers are just like friends. Yes, it's true, some are rude but overall they are good lecturers. My only complaint about the college is just they don't do more relevant fest. Coming to the sports part, it's great.     First of all I was very much interested in the Computer Science which is why I joined this institute through Comedk exam by securing 22k AIR. The institute was near my City and has pleasant environment in the city of Chikkamagalur to study. This institute provides well education also with the discipline.
