Computer Science at TGPCET Nagpur

Tulsiramji Gaikwad-Patil College of Engineering and Technology or TGPCET Nagpur is one of the renowned colleges for providing students with multiple course options such as Diploma, BE, B.Tech, MBA, etc. It is a private institute that is managed and overseen by the RTMNU University. While I completed BE in Computer Science at TGPCET, I gained hands-on skills about operating various computer systems and different languages associated that lets the computer/ hardware interact with humans. Although numerous institute provide different academic course options to aspirants, my desire behind choosing TGPCET was the quality of instruction, experienced faculty members, placement support, extracurricular activities, etc. it fosters. Unlike most other engineering colleges that do not focus on the quality of real-world instruction, TGPCET differs itself by providing it as an 'X-factor' which help graduates land lucrative jobs. Thus, students who desire to obtain a job through campus placements and start working immediately after graduation through thriving their practical skills in the competitive market must consider TGPCET as their ideal choice. To cut the long tail short, the TGPCET has provided me with academic knowledge, skill set, and expertise as well as colorful memories and great friends to put my best foot forward in both professional and personal life.

Since I was curious to understand the way a computer functions internally, my motivation behind completing BE in Computer Science at TGPCET was to learn about the programming languages, android development, website building, etc. For admission to this course, prospective students must have obtained at least 50% aggregate marks in their Class 12 in the PCM group. They must also have taken the annually conducted JEE Main exam and received the minimum cutoff marks for the respective year as required by the college. For admission to TGPCET, candidates must register and participate in the counselling process and verify their documents at the time of admission. Furthermore, the college prepares students to make a real-world impact by not only providing them with the academic knowledge but also training them to improve their personality and interpersonal skills.

To be admitted to TGPCET, students will be required to pay fees based on their preferred course type and category to which they belong since the college follows the reservation policy. For example, if a candidate wants to opt for a BE in CSE course, they will be required to pay an annual fee of INR 80,000 if they belong to the General category. Also, the college does not follow a semester-wise fee pattern. Thus, students should pay the entire annual fee in a maximum of three installments. Furthermore, the college does not provide any scholarship or financial aid to candidates.

As discussed, TGPCET fosters an excellent team of experienced faculty members irrespective of the type of course they have been handled to teach. My experience with CSE department's teaching staff was incredibly excellent since my professors used to explain every topic in detail, clear any doubts I might have had, and their surprise tests taught to study with consistency and persistence. I found their method of teaching unique, or in other words, we used to call it a descending one. They used to start solving the toughest questions first on the blackboard, followed by the easiest one for the end. With this, every one of us could almost solve each tough question asked in the exam easily.

The staff members handing the placement cell at TGPCET are much corporative and transparent to graduates about providing detailed information about the placement data. To let most of their students get placed in multinational companies, the college also trains them by arranging seminars and personality development classes. Since I have not opted for placement from my college, I am a bit unsure about any other placement-related activities being conducted for graduates. A few of the popular companies that used to visit the college campus for placement drive were HCL, Capgemini, Dell, Wipro, Infosys, etc. For CSE branch, the highest and lowest packages offered in 2021 were approximately 13 LPA and 3.2 LPA, respectively.

Yes, Tulsiramji Gaikwad-Patil College of Engineering and Technology offers hostel facilities separately for girls and boys. There are primarily two separate buildings for the same at two prime locations where students are provided with the bus facility to commute to college. Since I did not opt for college hostel facility, the food, living area, hygiene, environment, etc. was all good based on my friend's opinion that stayed there.

The Tulsiramji Gaikwad-Patil College of Engineering and Technology campus area is nearly spread in on acre where two colleges and eight departments/blocks are based separately for each discipline along with their individual lab facility. Each class has a seating capacity of 60 students. Along with academic and cultural events, the college also supports extracurricular activities where faculties organise various sports, festivals, etc. The institute has a well-maintained canteen facility, sports ground, library, seminar and conference halls, and more. Especially for CSE/IT branch students, the college has constructed high-quality labs and computer systems to help students run and manage computer programs while pursuing their degree.

Given the college organises various events one day or the other for the betterment of students, the campus life at TGPCET is fun, learning, and exciting. Due to this, the learning opportunities are great and this college crowd is huge. Every year, several extracurricular activities are organised where students take part in indoor and outdoor games, win prizes, and mark their names in the history. Like every year, I used to stand first in the chess and badminton games. Overall, the campus life at Tulsiramji Gaikwad-Patil College of Engineering and Technology is cherishable in both ways i.e., academic and extracurricular.
