Aarupadai Veedu Medical College: Overall a Good College

Overall Rating
Aarupadai Veedu Medical College, Pondicherry is a gem among lower cut off colleges. The faculty is senior and provides adequate knowledge and prepares students for real world challenges and makes them into future great doctors. What is different about this institute is that it is situated in Pondicherry which is a premiere tourist destination so both academic and social life is very well balanced. The peers are friendly and supportive and very diverse.
 

Academics Rating
I have Chosen MBBS course and my motive for enrolling is to become the best kind of doctor I want to be. The entry requirements / eligibility criteria at this college is to get the required cut off marks in NEET UG examination as it is a deemed medical college. Admission to the college is done through VMRF. The exams are held every year and each year there are minimum of three internal assessments.
The fee of my course at Aarupadai Veedu Medical College is Rs. 19, 50,000. although the fee has increased by Rs. 2,00,000 – Rs. 3,00,000 in 2024. Discounts are provided to SC / ST / OBC category students. Scholarships and financial aid of 5-10% is available here.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty members are very knowledgeable about their chosen course. Their background is from really good colleges and the current Dean is from PGI Chandigarh. Their method of teaching is up to date with modern teaching techniques like AI and PPTS. Problem solving abilities of faculties are very good and imparted properly to students. The teacher to student ratio is also very good and is about 40:150. Experience and bonding with faculty members is very good and all departments are approachable and helpful with doubt clearing.
 

Hostel Rating
Aarupadai Veedu Medical College offers residential facilities. There are triple sharing, double sharing, and even single room with bathrooms both inside and outside. There are recreational rooms for recreational activities. Mess food is hygienic and there is variety of food available 4 times a day. Both south and North Indian cuisine is available here. Hostel fees annually are Rs. 1, 70,000. Personal experience is very good as hostel is fully air conditioned.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Campus of Aarupadai Veedu Medical College is of 52 acres and is very big. The academic block is aesthetic and of good structure. Favorite thing of college infrastructure is the mess which has very tasty food. Library and labs are well equipped with study material for students to excel in their fields. Canteen, sports, medical facilities, transport, security and other facilities is adequate.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is great and college crowd is diverse and friendly. There are many clubs like Environment Club, Molecular Diagnostic Clubs, and Sports Club like football clubs, etc. I am part of Pharmacogenomics Club. There are many engagement clubs for students to join like music and dance clubs. Fests and events are organised every year with live DJ and celebrity entries. Overall my campus life in college has been very pleasant and I’m glad to have chosen this college.
