My Experience at Institute of Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition

Overall Rating
Overall experience was good though being a diploma student is not much fun as you might feel left out but otherwise teachers were so helpful and approachable. They were always ready to help you out be it regarding study or not. I choose this institute as it’s a central govt plus it provided you with ample of job and internship opportunities, so if you are looking for exploring real life challenges and the hotel industry, then do go for Institute of Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition.
 

Academics Rating
My course was diploma in front office as I knew I can't do food production n F&B service. It's a 1.6 years course which includes 6 months of training in hotels mostly 5 Star hotels. Admissions were completely merit based. It's requires you to submit all documents with a medical certificate. Exams were semester based one in December other in April (end term) and then from June the Industrial training starts. This course prepares you so well for the real life world and not only for Hotels but other fields too.
An overall fee at Institute of Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition for my course was Rs. 35,000 which includes Rs. 1,200 for uniform for girls in first semester. So around Rs. 18,000 in 1st semester and Rs. 16,000 in last semester.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty at Institute of Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition was so helpful. They were very educated in the fields with in-depth practical and theoretical knowledge. They used to teach on blackboard and in practical classrooms. Our batch had around 20 students with 5 teachers. Even after graduating my teachers are helping me in career very positively if I have any query they are always there to solve it. They are so approachable and knowledgeable. The institute also conducts industry visits where they take you out to a 5 star hotel for exposure.
 

Placement Rating
Placement cell was one of the best things here. Diploma students get placed mostly just after completing their internship. Otherwise companies from hospitality industry like Taj, Oberoi, Hyatt, etc. comes for recruiting students. Also retail companies like Jio, Tim Horton’s, Starbuck, etc. too visit here for offering placement opportunities to the students. The average package starts from 3LPA – 4LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
I was a regular student so don't know much about the hostel premise but yes it was decent from outside and had strict timings for all hostellers.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Campus infrastructure was decent. The classes were very big with good furniture and good mess for food which was available for regular students also it did not had a specific canteen but only a mess where you can eat and chill. In front of institute there's a chai ki tapri which was popular among all the students. It had a good computer lab that was newly built and a library too. The institute courtyard and the mess were the best part of Institute of Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition.
 

Campus Rating
Overall it was a good experience. The crowd at Institute of Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition was average. Also institute celebrates international days like world environment day kind of things in which they conduct various activities inside and outside the institute. It sometimes felt like a school too as it has a dress code and strictness on grooming which is obvious because they are making you industry ready. Overall, my experience at Institute of Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition was good.
