Admission Process and Fees at MLBMC Jhansi

I took admission in MLBMC Jhansi few months ago through UP NEET counseling. It has taught me a lot about medical life in these few months. It was a great experience for my batch mates and me. The factors that made me choose this college is the fact that it is one of the oldest medical colleges of India. It was started in the late 1970s. The overall faculty of this college is really experienced. The patient flow of the college hospital offers a lot to learn. This connectivity of this college with my hometown and with many other cities is good. So even planning a college trip during vacation is also possible.

I picked the course MBBS and my motive for enrolling in it was to become a Doctor as it was my passion since childhood and becoming a doctor feels a very proud. Entry requirement is to clear class 12th, qualify in National Entrance cum Eligibility Test (NEET) exam, and be selected in the desired medical college through counseling. Admission process is to register in counseling platform and fill the list of desires colleges. If you have, qualifying marks then you can get whichever college you picked first that you can get. After entering in college, per year 4 exams are conducted, 2 part syllabus exams known as Terminals, then Pre-Profs and final Profs exam. The academics do prepare you really well for the real life as whatever you learn is applicable while practicing.

Fees structure is of two types depending on the category of students. For general category students, admission fee is Rs. 2,000, caution fee is Rs. 10,000, tuition fee is Rs. 18,000, development fee is Rs. 2,000, hostel fee is Rs. 3,600, electricity fee is Rs. 2,400, and others charges are Rs. 4,000. It makes total fee to be Rs. 42,000. For reserved category students, admission fee is Rs. 2,000, caution fee is Rs. 10,000, tuition fee is Rs. 9,000, development fee is Rs. 2,000, hostel fee is Rs. 3,600, electricity fee is Rs. 2,400, and other charges are Rs. 4,000. It makes total fee to be Rs. 33,000.

For the first year, we have 3 subjects, Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry and per subject, we have 1 professor, 1 assistant professor, and 2 demonstrators and they all conduct our classes to reach us various chapters of our course. All the faculty members have completed their MBBS course minimum and the senior professors have their speciality degree of their respective subjects, overall all the faculty members are experienced without a doubt. Method of teaching is of various types, verbally, blackboard teaching, PPTs, and weekly 2 seminars are conducted for the students to present a topic, which they studied so it works as a revision method also. Per class, there are 150 students and each department has 4 to 5 faculty members. My personal experience with teachers is great. In case of how approachable they are, we have the contact numbers of all the faculty members but as the senior most professors are busy with their duties direct calls might not be answered on the spot but call backs and messages are possible with them, other professor are approachable though.

In our field, placement system is not quite a thing. Generally, it is as if once you have completed your degree, you can refer to any hospital for a job or can start your own practice and work accordingly. However, yes for the experience, internships are in here and are helpful for students.

Yes, MLBMC Jhansi does provide residential facilities. For the UG students, we have 2 boy’s hostels each having 150 rooms, 1 girl’s hostel with 100 rooms. For PG students, there is senior boy's hostel, senior girl's hostel, and hostel for married PG students. Talking about our hostel, all the students are provided with a single room. All the basic facilities are present in the room, along with a common hall and mess. Mess food is quite decent, although it is not as hygienic as the food in home, it is still good in taste and at a cost of Rs. 3,000 per month for 3 meals per day, and I feel it is great. Hostel fee is Rs. 3,600 per month. For boy’s hostel, the timing is 9 PM and for girls hostel the timing is 8 PM to get back if you go out.

The academic block of our college is decent in size. There are 4 lecture halls in our college with capacity of 150 students and many other classrooms for smaller group teachings. The rooms have blackboards and also projector system for online teachings. 2 Libraries are present in our college. All the departments have their own labs. Seminar hall and auditorium are also present. Canteen services is not present in the college, for many different sports, their respective fields are present in the college and one can play their whenever they want, all the other facilities like medical, transport and security if also present. For the fact that it was made in 1970s and according to that time with was fantastic. However, according to current time and standards it does feel old and a need have, renovation is felt in here. For extracurricular activities, we have various grounds for playing games like cricket, football, badminton, volleyball, basketball, and also indoor games like table tennis, chess, and more.

Initially when I came to this college, I was a bit disappointed but now that I have spent a decent time in here, I have realized that the academics of this college do matter more than other things. Per year, two fests are conducted, one is sports event conducted in December, and one is Cultural event in April.
