NIT Aizawal Focuses on Integrated Development

Overall Rating
It was my passion to pursue my B.Tech in prestigious institutes like IITs or NITs. NIT Mizoram is also one of the top institutes. Unlike other third tier institutes it is highly recognised and placement rate is also high. Faculties and equipment are at their best. My choice to enroll in this Institute would never be regretted later. To Pursue B.Tech in NIT is like a dream come true to me.
 

Academics Rating
I am doing B.Tech in Civil Engineering branch. To enroll in NIT Aizawal, one need to clear the JEE Main exam and secure a good percentile. Admission process is quite simple; you just need to verify some required documents along with the physical verification. There will be one mid-sem and one end-sem exam for every semester. Institute prepares well for real life challenges by taking to industrial visits.
I pay Rs. 55,000 per semester, which includes Rs. 26,000 of tuition fee, Rs. 13,000 of mess fee, and Rs. 7,000 of hostel fees. Around Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 4,000 varies every semester.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are highly qualified and their way of teaching is also very good. They are very knowledgeable and help us to understand the concept really well. All the factually have done their PhDs. Faculty teaches using a mixed teaching method of blackboards and PPTs. Coming to the problem solving skills, they are very good at it. Teacher to student ratio will be about 1:5. Faculty members are super friendly and really helpful in clearing doubts.
 

Placement Rating
Our training & placement cell is also good and they are very good at attracting placements from different companies. They help us to make a resume for placements and bring companies to our Institute by contacting them. Highest package was 21 LPA and lowest was 4 LPA this year. Companies like Juspay, L&T, Technos, etc. came to our Institute for recruitment.
 

Hostel Rating
We stay in Institute hostel. There are total 4 hostels, 3 for boys and 1 for girls. There are about more than 500 students who stay in hostel. Mess food quality is good but tastes average. There are 3 meals per day and snacks during evening. Hostels are good to stay and facilities are also good. Hostel fee is Rs. 10,000.
 

Infrastructure Rating
To be honest our institute does not have a proper campus. Our academic blocks are located in different locations of the main city, Aizawl. Classrooms are not so big but they are good. In every class room 30 to 40 students can be seated. Library is a good place to study and contains various books of different branches. Lab equipment are also very good, every department has different labs at different locations. Canteen is located in mess itself. Institute provides medical facilities and there is an ambulance for any emergency as well. There are 4 buses for each hostel.
 

Campus Rating
Finally, coming to my campus life it is very joyful and has helped me to learn many new things. The Institute is not much crowded as there are only 30 to 40 students in each branch for every year. There are some clubs in my Institute and I am also a part of arts club because I am very interested in dance. National Institute of Technology, Aizawl encourages students to participate in sports events like inter NIT Competitions. Events are like fresher’s party, farewell, cultural fest etc. They also conduct hackathons and seminars to encourage students.

    This institute has a temporary campus because of which you cannot enjoy your college life fully. Fewer events in the college. Less fest in the college. Opportunities are there in sports as well as study. Sports fests are there. Inter NIT Competition are there. Placements are very good of last few years.
