Choose MBBS Course from S.C.B. Dental College Cuttack

My overall experience of the college was neutral. I choose this college because this is the oldest and one and only Dental College in my state Odisha. Others could join this college if they also want to become a successful doctor with good etiquettes and knowledge. The education provided here is good and practical. There are many patients and different cases seen during the posting and that is the main feature of this government college.

Honestly, I wanted MBBS at first, but I was not able to get a government seat with my marks, so I didn't waste another year of my life chasing MBBS, and chose this opportunity. I enrolled here so I can explore something new; it's like a new door to my life and am enjoying it with pain and joy. Eligibility criteria are according to your NEET marks. In 2024, the cutoff was in between 605- 641 for BDS. After the counseling, there will be a particular date where you will go with all your documents and your admission will be done in the college itself, no online method. There are 3 internal and 1 final exams conducted. The academics constitute the theory and practical, which helps to learn a lot.

The admission fee is Rs. 37,950, Hostel fee is Rs. 14,000, Examination fee is Rs. 2,500 and Other charges (Mess, blazer and study material) are Rs. 52,000. The books cost Rs. 25,000.

Our faculties here are highly educated. Most classes have both PPT and blackboard. There is group discussion done also. So, by the discussion there is clarity of the topics. Faculty clears the doubt at the end of the class. Our bonding with faculty members is good and they help us a lot regarding the academics and other problems too. There is a healthy interaction between the students and the teachers. The professors are serious about the syllabus and try to finish it early but not leaving any details. Very helpful faculties are present.

For girls there is separate hostel, but only for 1st years. Here both MBBS and BDS first year reside. The hostel has total 36 rooms and one dormitory. It is hygienic; there are cleaning staff that clean the room daily in morning. Mess food is average. The hostel closing time is 8 PM.

Our academic block is inside the Dental Hospital and it has a good infrastructure. There are total 9 departments of Dental. There are two parts of building, one is new annexure and other is old building. The 9 departments are spread across both of them. We do our lectures and practical at 3rd floor. In classrooms, we have plenty of places to sit. There are projector facilities for PPT presentations during class. Labs are there for our dental practical. There is an auditorium too. A Canteen is also there where good quality food is provided. I must say the stage is my favorite till now.

Our overall campus life is wonderful although there is no such thing as campus as it is a hospital still it's beautiful. There is more patient crowd than college crowd. There are many fests conducted throughout the year. Our dental college and medical college arrange many extracurricular activities too. My experience until now about the campus life is pretty good.
