A Guide to B.A.LL.B Admissions at Jigyasa University Dehradun

My overall experience in the university is amazing. It is a little far from main city of Dehradun, which really makes it special from other universities. The campus is in between the green area of Forest. The factors to why I chose this was the reasonable fees it offered. The difference in Jigyasa University and other universities is minimum students and experienced faculties. The teachers motivate us in daily like to participate in competitions, which enhances our knowledge as a student.

Currently, I'm pursuing B.A. LL.B and I suggest each and every student to pursue it from Jigyasa University. As in starting semesters, they teach you basics, and then they prefer going advance in studies, by a pace of time. There is 12th percentage criteria to get admission in our college, and through CUET you can also get enrolled. Exams happen frequently in our university; 2 sessional exams like internals in one semester, then 1 externals. 3 exams ahead in 6 months are held. The academics also prepare us for government exams, which make it very special.

The fees details, according to year 2023 were Rs. 40,000 per semester and Rs. 80,000 per year. The fee only includes academics and other than this, admission fees was around Rs. 10,000, and examination fees was Rs. 2,500. Special discounts are provided in fees, like on merit basis, on domicile basis, on girl child basis. On merit basis, fees were provided to students for gaining percentage above 90. They were provided 60% off in tuition fees.

We have faculties with great experience. They help us in every step, day by day. Law is a field in which experience should be in real life courts as well, and that's what our faculties specialized at. The faculties are mostly from Uttarakhand only, which make them help us to get to know about legal background of our State. The teachers use white boards, PPTs, Quiz on weekly basis, etc. National competitions have been organized to enhance our Organizing committee abilities, like National moot courts competition. Each semester has a class coordinator, other than that, one HOD and one Dean. We share a great bonding with our teachers; they make us understand everything on easy basis.

There is a placement cell in our university, which provides us placements in our last semester for tenure of 6 months. Companies come in our university to conduct an interview and students get selected for their internship from the campus only. Before placement, mock interviews are conducted which help students to understand, how the procedure is done. In law related field, companies like, Blackwings came in our university for placement. An average package of law student is around 6.5 Lakh per annum. Currently, I'm not being placed as I'm not in my last year.

Our university offers hostels and residential facilities. There are 3 seaters room available, for around Rs. 40,000 per semester, 2 seater room, with AC for Rs. 45,000 to Rs. 50,000. And finally one seater AC room for Rs. 60,000 per semester. Girls and boys hostel are separate, with a distance as well. Mess food and quality is amazing, it doesn't match the level of home food, but yes the food tastes amazing. Hostel timings are early closed in winters and late close in summers, around 9 PM. Hostel feels like a family, we help each other, and the warden is a little strict towards safety of girls.

The campus is huge, of around 50 acres of campus. The blocks are relatively huge and provided 2 floors in each building. Building and blocks are built differently according to the courses. The locality is a bit rural around the campus but that makes it different. Classrooms with maximum of 80 students each class seating, lecture theaters are built for students, more than 80 strength. There are libraries separate for Law and one central library; there are labs and moot court, seminal hall, one huge open auditorium, and a conference hall in management department. In our campus, we are provided with a canteen, open cafeteria, and tuck shop for all necessary items. Sports facilities are also provided and annual sports day is also conducted. Medial room and a doctor as well as one ambulance for an emergency are there. Security guards roam in whole campus. My favorite parts of the college campus are the open spaces, sitting areas, comfortable washrooms, greenery, maintenance, etc.

My overall campus life is amazing. The life in our university was full of fun, amusement, professional disciple, overall a package of happiness. College crowd is not much; students are less in our university, which make it comfortable for individuals to stay away from competition. There are many clubs like ‘VIBGYOR’ for management department, ‘DEBSOC’ for debating society, ‘MCS’, for moot court society. I am a part of moot court society. Extracurricular activities like sports fest, debates, intra moot courts, national youth parliaments have been organized. The campus life was extra ordinary, making it special from other universities.
