Pacific University MCA Review By Divyansh Rai

When I first visited the campus, I was amazed by the beauty of Pacific University it is a technical university and offer like 10 courses. In my first year there was a lot of academic pressure and we have to learn 6 subjects in each semester and I have to say that first three semester were very hard to qualify because they teach us a lot in first 3 semester and after that university life was easy and enjoyable because companies start to visit the campus from third semester and our classmates start to get placed. In second or last year of the university we appear in many companies recruitment process until we got placed. I choose this course because there were not many opportunities was present after I did my BCA and I choose this university because it is one of the best private universities in Rajasthan. Anyone which wants to do MCA with decent university can enroll in this course.

Master of Computer Application is a course in which we mainly study about the various programming languages and also about the web development and we try to acquire all the skills which are required by the companies for the software and web development profiles. I got into the university on the merit basis and mostly admissions are done on the marks in graduation. Since it is post graduation level program and it is also a professional course hence students should have done their BCA from any university recognize by UGC. My motive for enrolling in this program was very simple and it was that I want more opportunities for my career to grow and I wanted to be placed in good company. There are four semester in this course and it is not easy to qualify the semester and we need to study really hard to pass each semester.

All the faculty members those teach me was good and their style of teaching was also good and their way of delivering knowledge is more practical and it is less theoretical and reason for that is that in MCA, majority of the subjects are programming languages and web development frameworks and for them we require to learn the practical aspect of the subjects. So by considering above mentioned reason I can say that faculty members in Pacific University are better than those of my graduation. Teachers here in the university are more research oriented and they encourage us to be more research oriented and also aid us to make our own work or file our own patent and that is why this university is best research university in Rajasthan. All of the teachers are very qualified; they did their research work from top universities around India.

Pacific University placement cell is not as active as I thought it would be because placements are undergone in my batch and only 30 percent, students got placed till now in my class and I am studying in my final semester which means there are only 3 months remaining for the placements of the 70 percent students. The reason for the low placement is that mass recruitment companies did not visit the campus for the hiring. Some of the companies that visit the campus till now are Mando Softtech Pvt Ltd, Jaro Education, Planet Shark, Digit, Accorate Education, TCS and many more but these companies only hire 4-5 students per company. In my batch highest package is of a student who got a 12 LPA from Mando for the software development post.

Since Pacific University is new and campus is so beautiful and very well designed. All the hostels are new and all the facilities in the hostel rooms are also good and they provide most of the things required for the hostel students. View from the hostels is also amazing since university campus is in the mountains so it gives really good experience to live in the hostel. There are some really good rooms on rent are also available outside the campus who really charge like Rs. 7000 per month including room rent and food charges and we can get only room for the rent of 3000-4000 with good facilities like Wi-Fi, cleaning, kitchen with fridge etc. There are lot of activities happen in the hostel like kabaddi inside the hostel and also night outs in the college campus hostel.

I have never seen a university more beautiful than the Pacific University since it is build at a really amazing location with all the modern facility and I feel that architecturally no university can be build more beautiful than this university. There are around 20 building blocks in the Pacific University and there is one separate block of building for the school of computer application in which there is a big computer center for the labs of the MCA and BCA students. Since university is new so most of its facilities and equipment are new and useful. There are all type of sports facility is available in the Pacific University and there is also indoor sports facility and one big auditorium for the indoor session and for the convocation program. Classrooms are good and the tables are also good in the class and there is also a projector in the classrooms and all the classrooms are air-conditioned and there is LAN in all the classes.

Life in the university is pretty fun and I am here in the university since 18 months I have explored all the campus area and there some two to three spots in the university where we can spent time with friends and can enjoy quality time. There is also a big canteen in the college where we spent a lot time just hanging out and those are really good memories for us. Crowd in the university is also good and positive since there are more than 1000 students in the campus so is always some activities that happen in the campus. There are some clubs in the university but these clubs are not very much engaged with the students and there are very few students who hardly join any club in the campus. There are some fest happen in the university like a cultural fest in December each year and one event for the newly enrolled students in the mid August and one sports tournament which consist of many games of cricket and football. Overall It is wonderful experience to be in the Pacific University.
