Student Life at CUG Gandhinagar: Clubs, NCC & Other Committees

Overall Rating
The main factor behind choosing CUG Gandhinagar was the availability of the course I wanted to pursue, which someone can find very rarely. It’s also a great option for students from middle class families or students from Financially Challenged Background in general. Faculty at this Institution are also graduated from renowned Universities from around the globe.
 

Academics Rating
The academic benefits here are really nice as the professors are marvellous in their respective field. I enrolled for M.A. in Defence and Strategic Studies where the entry level for all Central University is through CUET exams. Enrolment for the courses depends upon your cut-off and counselling. CUET exams are being held every year through which one can apply and get enrolled here once cleared with suitable cut-off. Academics of this Institution prepare one with good knowledge of research analysis, paper presentation and problem solving assessment.
The fee of this Institution varies according to different subjects as stated by the UGC norms. The fee for the National Security Subject is around Rs. 3000/- per semester. There are no fees for the reservation categories which are SC/ST/EwS. Special discount is being provided to Physical disabled person. Special facilities are being provided to the Foreign students.
 

Faculty Rating
School of National Security faculty has a specialisation in their background especially in the field of National Security, Internal Security, Counter-Terrorism, International Relations. All professors are pass outs from renowned Universities from across the globe in their respective fields. Their method of teaching mainly involves teaching through PPTs, group discussions and blackboard as well. All professors share their experiences with the students which feel quite engaging.
 

Placement Rating
CUG Gandhinagar doesn't provide any kind of placements to their students but somehow references are being provided by the professors to their students for internships outside the Campus.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel was average. Boys and Girls hostel were separate, where hostel accommodation for girls were in the Campus itself in Vadodara. Quality of food was decent, mess food included Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snack, and Dinner. Hostel fees were around Rs. 4500/- per semester excluding food.
 

Infrastructure Rating
CUG Gandhinagar has two academic blocks in Sector 29 and 30; Academic block was in 29 and library in 30. Vadodara Campus has good infrastructure which is currently in construction phase. Classroom has the capacity of around 50 but intake is around 30 only. There is also a canteen present here which has the capacity of 100 people at a time; my favourite place was the classroom.
 

Campus Rating
Overall Campus life was quite average. It was interesting to study there; and overall, the crowd in the University were from all parts of the Nation. The extracurricular activities included National Seminars and NSS field surveys. Every festival was celebrated here by the students.
