Raja Balwant Singh Engineering Technical Campus B.Tech Review By Siddhant Yadav

Raja Balwant Singh Engineering College is the part of the RBS University and this college is connected to the A P J Abdul Kalam Technical University and college offer course in engineering and pharmacy. Fee in the college is also not high and for the B. Tech it was around Rs. 60,000 per year without hostel charges. College infrastructure and other amenities are good but the placement in the RBS is not as expected. I am residence of Agra so I find the best college for engineering in Agra and that was the reason for me to select this institute. I would not recommend college to anyone if you can get better college than this then you should go for that. Other than the placements college is very good in terms of sports, extracurricular and the college environment is very good. Sports team of the college is a champion team who won various tournaments.

When I was enrolled in this course at that time admission in Raja Balwant Singh Engineering Technical Campus were done by the UPSEE exam but from the year 2021 the admission are done through the JEE Mains exam and we can fill the form for the exam on the National Testing Agency website. I took the Electrical Engineering branch in the Bachelor of Technology and the subjects in this course are generally based on the current and electrical machines. There are four years in the course and we need to qualify each and every subject and practical to get the degree for the course. My motivation for this program was the number of job in the government sector from this branch and there are many vacancies in government organizations for the electrical engineering branch. But only the job motivation cannot do the all we also need to have an interest in the subjects of the course and had that interest in studying the core subject.

Sorry to say but the teachers in the organizations are not for the teaching they are here in the institute only for the salary and I am saying that because I had spent four year of my life in the college and they teach me in the class. Not all the teachers are bad but majority of the teachers did not teach well and we had to study from the various online portals to understand the subjects properly. As a technical graduate I studied many subjects with practical and I had to complete a project each year in the college and all the time when the we do work in lab I was disappointed because teachers just told us to follow the steps to complete the particular practical and there was nothing creative in the labs the teachers also do not encourage us to anything innovative. Every teacher is post graduate and some of them are research scholar and many of them have good teaching experience.

As my review title say this college is worst as per the placements are concerned. Cell for the placements is present in the campus but the cell is not concerned for the placements of the students. Only few companies visit the college and some of them are just local companies hiring for the sales profile with a salary of Rs. 20,000 per month which I feel is an insult for engineering graduate. Few of the companies that visit the campus are IDS Infotech, Fare labs, Innodata India, Dhanuka Laboratories, Dotsquares, Jyoti Enterprises, and Echelon Edges etc. But all of the mentioned companies only offer salary varying from 15000 to 30000 per month. But we can apply for the companies out of the campus. There are some portals like LinkedIn, Glassdoor are some of the website where we can see the various job opportunity in the companies.

Since I lived nearby the college so I did not opt for the hostel but I stayed in PG at the time of exam because my home is around 30 Kilometer away from the college. But my friends lived in the hostel and they told me that the quality of the hostels is not good and the food is just average and they are only living in the college hostel because the fee in the college hostel is lesser than the PG outside the college hostels. But I feel that college hostels are good for girls because the security inside the college hostel is very good and the PGs outside the campus are not good for girls and societies nearby the hostels are also not good.

Infrastructure wise this college is good and this is a very old college and this college also has a rich history of its creation. Raja Balwant Singh of Awagarh donated a land of one thousand acre for the development of the college. This college is very rich in term of resources and there are many facilities in the college. There is no food problem in the college because there is a big canteen in the institute for the students off course they charge for the food. Campus is connected to the internet and free Wi-Fi is available in the college for the students with the speed of around 30 Mbps. There is grand book center in the college where we can read the books and journals on many various topics. Medical services are also very good in the institute. Sports facilities are amazing in the college since this college is very supportive for the sports activities.

College is good for you if you do not want to get placed in a good company and if you are only for the college life and sports facilities then this college is heaven for you but if you want a good career in life and want to start a career in a good company then this college is not for you. My third and fourth year were invested in the preparation for the GATE exam so I did not enjoy much of the college life but I know what happen in the college but I was not involved much in them. One annual fest called ABHYUDAY happens each year which is a two day fest in which one day students perform and another day there is DJ night happen in the institute. College is very active and vibrant in term of the sports activities and one intercollegiate sports fest in the college in which teams from the outside the college also comes. There are many societies in the college and all of the societies are run by seniors in the college.
