Goalpara College was Started in 1955

Goalpara College is a good College and I am to be its part. The teachers like professional I have to say this and if students give their 50% in their studies, they would definitely achieve their goals. Therefore, if you are a good student you can take admission in Goalpara College. The locality around the College is also nice and student friendly.

I did not know I could experience and learn to do so many things. You have to get at least 70% to take admission then apply and then wait for merit lists to know if you got seat or you can get seat. 2 exams were held during the period of 6-month semester. Other than this, assignments and practical exams are also regular.

It is a Government College so I did not have to pay much. I paid Rs. 3000/- to Rs. 4000/- only during admission. Then, I had to pay like around Rs. 3000/- for exams fees in every 6 months (cause it is under Gauhati University ) so yeah.

The professors are really good. They are always available. When someone needs help, they get it immediately. All in all, for me the teachers are MVP and I am lucky to be taught by them.

Yes, girls and boys have separate hostels. Those who get 80% or above marks are allowed to opt for accommodation amenities. I do not know much about the College’s accommodations as I live PGs. However, I have heard that the food is edible and bathrooms are clean and well maintained. Hostellers have to pay around Rs. every year. About 10,000/- the hostel rules, residents cannot go outside without permission of their in-charges. For outings, they have to write sign the register and go outside & it is allowed twice a week. The return time is around 5 PM to 6 PM. when they go home, they have to write an application & get it signed with authorities.

Campus is really huge and I have many classes. Most of the classes like for the major students there are 40 to 50 seats in a classroom. For the new students, the classes are relatively smaller. We have smart classrooms, lab, auditoriums, conference hall, and others. The library is also good and whenever I had exams, I go to College early and study in the library or read books. Most of the students always eat at the Canteen specially those who live or stay far away their homes. We have Volleyball & Basketball court and a really big playground. Girls and boys common rooms & gym are also there.

My campus life is expectedly cool. Crowd is also good. We often have events and programs in our College. NCC and NSS Units are also available at the College. I am very introvert so I do not go out I cannot even talk properly but my overall experience is just really good like I never felt like I belong to different town.
