Jawaharlal Nehru Rajkeeya Mahavidyalaya is the oldest college and first properly established college in Andaman and Nicobar islands. My overall experience in the college was a decent college. I chose this college since it was only one of two Arts college in port Blair. It's a good college in academic wise it produces decent results. The sports wise the college is best in Andaman. The one who can't afford the high fees of mainland colleges for them JNRM is the best option.

There are more than 30 courses in JNRM for various disciplines in science, commerce and arts. I went into B.Sc. Physics due to my great interest in the physics from the school itself. The eligibility is 50 percentage aggregate marks in Class 12th. The admission process is done through counselling through the merit only. There is no management quota as it's a government college.

The Most of the faculties of our college are ex Alumni of our college who had passed out from this college. They all are experienced and knowledgeable and are good at teaching. In my physics Department all the faculties are over 10 years of experienced and all are passed with Master's degree. Their style of teaching is also good.

Yes we have a placement cell at our college but currently it's not at all active. There is almost no placement in our college and very rarely few students get internship in some private companies. There is no placement due to lack of companies. But the college do all the things from themselves to make the students industrial ready.

There are hostel facilities in our college for the students who are from other cities like Diglipur, Rangat, Mayabundur. Currently there are almost 200 to 250 students in the hostel. The hostel infrastructure is good and the mess facilities and food provide by them is good.

Our college has a decent Infrastructure. Since the college was built more than 40 years ago, so the infrastructure is not that great. But slowly the management is replacing all the old buildings with new Multistorey buildings. Every department has its own amount of space and classrooms. The college has one of the biggest library collections in the Andaman. The classrooms are spacious and wi-fi facilities are also available.

Overall the campus life is very good. The fees of the college is very affordable it's almost 5000 to 10000 a year only. Currently there are close to 2000 students in our campus. There are many fests conducted in our campus like starring the year from New Year Celebration, Pongal Celebration, Onam Celebration, Christmas Celebration and cultural. The sports meet is also held in a grand manner.
