Thanjavur Medical College is Affiliated to The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai

I have joined TMC Thanjavur based on merit in the year 2017. It is affiliated to The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University Chennai. The atmosphere plays a major role in shaping our life, and that's true in my case too, the most incredible gift life has given me is this College. The experience I have gathered and the hospitality provided to the patients here is on another level. We can gain as much as knowledge we want.

As a MBBS aspirant, the main motive behind my passion is my parents, my mother got injured and admitted at hospital of this College, that day changes my life. The care that doctors provided to mother was priceless & that motivated me towards this course. To become eligible for admission in this course, one has to clear NEET entrance exam. The admission is mainly based on merit. University exam are held once is a year and an internal exam for every subject are conducted in each month. The College has a strict attendance policy. It's a great challenge and the toughest part in life of each medical student but passion keeps them moving and gives the courage to face the situations.

We have to pay tuition fees of Rs. 13,000/- every year with exam fees of Rs. 5000/-.

Teachers and lecturers are Doctors who are well experienced and knowledgeable are enough to guide every student. Their teaching methods include the use of PPT. For every 25 students, we get a lecturer to guide them.

The final 1 year of this program is internship period. One has to work in hospital to get their training in medical field. In that period, students are able to conclude their interests in choosing their favorite Post Graduation field.

We have separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls and the main officer is again a Doctor. 2 students stay in each room. Food is prepared 3 times in a day. Monthly payment of hostel is about Rs. 4500/-.

Thanjavur Medical College is the oldest College. We have playground, stadium, auditorium, and conference hall for every subject. Library is also available and it is accessible to every medical student. We have separate canteen for both patients and doctors. I enjoyed learning and being in hospital with patients.

Apart from studies, students have other entertainment sources as a stress busters like cultural fests, sports day, competitions, and birthday celebration. Field trips are also organised to help us gain industry experience. Overall, it was an amazing experience being part of this College.
