Best Girls College In Shimoga

Overall Rating
Having shifted from Bellary, I wanted to attend a ladies-only college. Even though the distance was a little far from my house, I chose Kamala Nehru and I must say it was a memorable experience. The faculties were very patient and fun-loving. They made the learning experience enjoyable. The environment was quite serene and it had a lot of lush greenery surrounding the campus. Overall a great institution.
 

Academics Rating
It's one of the best places established in 1965 if you are interested in Arts and Commerce. It is one of the oldest institutions in Shimoga. They have subjects like History, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, and Linguistics. Entry into this institution requires you to have a 12th-class / high school diploma degree with a first-class degree. I was always interested in pursuing arts and humanities.
 

Faculty Rating
All the faculties were well trained and professional. They were caring and well understood the student's issues and helped us solve problems. All though the majority was male professors, we never felt unsafe. They had good experience and knowledge in their subjects, They gave us regular assignments and surprise tests which helped us to cope with exam stress. They never hesitated to teach real-life stories on social life and even taught us how we should behave and help others.
 

Placement Rating
Being an Arts and Commerce College, generally, the on-campus placements do not happen, however, most of the alumni of Kamala Nehru College are well off and working in large MNCs and also settled abroad.
 

Hostel Rating
We do not have any hostels in our institute.
 

Infrastructure Rating
It is in the center of the city. We have Gandhi National Park one of the largest parks in Shimoga opposite Kamala Nehru College. The college is in the vicinity of many restaurants. Easily accessible from the city with good connectivity by public transport. The college has adequate parking facilities if you happen to travel on your own by scooter/car. Wi-Fi is also available inside the campus and network coverage is quite good.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life at Kamala Nehru College is the best 3 years of my college life. People come from different towns and cities to study here and there is a lot of bonding created. Annual fests are conducted in our college twice a month and people participate in traditional dance, music, folklore, and art. Notable personalities and famous writers, and celebrities attend our college for Guest Lectures, Events, and Disco Jockey Nights. Apart from that we also have debate competitions, inter-mural competitions, quizzes, spell bees, and social service training.
