The college is situated in the heart of the pink city (Jaipur), near the very grand Sawai Mansingh Stadium (SMS). It is affiliated with the University of Rajasthan, and the course syllabus is similar to it. It has been awarded the status of "College of Excellence'' by UGC and declared a "model college" by the Government of Rajasthan. It has also been re-accredited by NAAC-UGC with A++ grade and has a CGPA of 3.82, the highest in the country. The college had an NIRF ranking under top 200 colleges in India. It was also awarded as "DBT Star College'' by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology.

The admission process is quite simple. There are no entrance exams. Rather, merit lists are made and depending on your percentage in the previous qualifying degree, you are selected or rejected. The college management is very helpful and efficient, and any queries or issues can be resolved easily either by directly contacting the office or calling the official number available on the college website.

I joined the Bachelor in Science (Honours) course with chemistry as the major subject and zoology as the subsidiary one. The eligibility in this course was 10+2 qualified with at least 50% if from Rajasthan, and 60% if from other states. There were no entrance exams, only a merit list was drawn. Chemistry is a unique subject as it blends the two other branches of pure science, physics and biology, in one. And there are so many fascinating and wonderful things to learn in this beautiful subject. That was the primary reason why I sought to pursue this subject further after passing 12th standard. Apart from that, chemistry has a wide scope in today's world. From pharmacy to food products to industrial research, the options are plenty in quantity as well as quality.

The course subjects, as mentioned earlier, were similar to the ones created by the Universe of Rajasthan, and hence covered all the primary aspects of the two subjects I was studying, Zoology and Chemistry. The course will be quite helpful to get jobs. Most of the government entrance exams require a Bachelor's degree to qualify for the exam. Also, several private companies hire interns and associates who've studied in the field of chemistry, and this degree is helpful for that as well.

There are 150 faculties in total in the college, teaching a plethora of subjects, as of now. And out of that, 25 faculties teach Zoology and Chemistry, the faculties varying according to course section and year. All the faculties are experienced and proficient in their respective subjects. Almost all of them have completed doctoral degrees in their fields of expertise, and some have further passed post-doctoral diplomas.

The teachers are helpful, hard working, and try their best to make the concepts clear. They were friendly throughout the duration of the course, and provided guidance at every stage. The study material provided in the class or as separate notes were more than sufficient for the university exams.

There's a campus placement cell which provides help to the visiting companies. It also conducts job fairs, personality development programs and other courses for skill development. Students are provided guidance for their career and higher educational prospects.

More than 100 companies visit the campus every year. Most of these companies are multinational, and popular in the public eye, like Airtel, HDFC, Kotak, My FM, Reliance Retail, Raymond, Mahindra, Infosys etc. And every year, more than 1000 students are selected by these companies. Apart from these placements, every year, many students get selected in premium educational institutions throughout the country, and in government jobs in various sectors like defense, public affairs etc.

The campus is spread in an area of over 10 acres. It comprises five floors with 146 classrooms, 46 labs which are equipped with all the necessary items, 3 research labs, and 5 seminar halls. There's a large library with a diverse collection of books for various branches of study. There's also an e-library and a cafeteria which can be used by the students at any time. There's also a canteen where students can buy snacks and carbonated drinks.

There's an open playground, where students hang out during the time when they have no classes to attend. For cases of medical emergency, there is a medical room with first aid and basic medical amenities available.

As they say, college life is a wonderful and fun phase of your life which you never forget. I'm pretty sure it's the same for me. And it was all made special by the friends I made here, the teachers who helped me at every stage. There are a multitude of clubs which a student can join, and many competitions and activities are conducted throughout the year. There are seminars, there are guest lectures, which increase your base knowledge.

Teachers encourage taking part in inter-college fests, and several colleges send their representatives to our college to promote their events. Semester toppers are awarded every year, course-wise, which encourages the students to study harder. Overall, it's a great experience in itself.
