North Bengal Medical College MBBS Review By Bikram Prasad Mondal

North Bengal Medical College is a government medical college only in northern side of the state. It established in the year of 1968. It's a 200 MBBS seat college which is affiliated to West Bengal University of Health Science. It is situated in Susrut Nagar exactly in Thknikata 7.3 kilometres from the NJP Railway Station and 2 km from the Siliguri town. Anybody want to get admission in this college then they have to qualify the NEET examination. The cutoff marks for general category in 2019 is 529 approx and in this year it up to 585. College management is very helpful during the admission process and during the academic life.

I had already completed my MBBS from this college. Anybody wants to joint in any government medical college for MBBS, they must have to qualify NEET UG examination. The cut off vary college to college. MBBS one of the most popular courses in India. You can get job easily after the completing the course. You can also get paid during the internship.

There are total 78 teaching staff is present. Most of them are good. You can have good experience with the laboratory works. Most of the teachers are experienced and some of the teachers are board member of WBUHS. You will have a good experience with teaching.

After doing the MBBS course, you don't have to worry about the placement. You will get paid during the internship. At first they used to paid Rs. 23,500 but during the covid, government increased to Rs. 28,500. After internship, you can do house staff ship and you can paid up to 48.5 thousand rupees. After MBBS you can do preparation for PG. After doing MD in surgery or in medicine you can earn a lot.

There is total four boys hostel and three girls hostel. Junior boys hostel for the first year boys and senior boys hostel for final year and intern and new boys hostel for 2nd year and 3rd year. And for the girls one hostel for the 1st year and Kadambini Girls Hostel for intern and final year students and another hostel for 2nd year and 3rd year.

There is common bathroom in each floor of the hostel. And there are total 4 floors in each building. And every hostel have canteen in the ground floor. Approx 40 rupees per meal in the canteen. Total 4000 rupees expenditure for every month in the canteen approximately.

NBMC is of 151 acre in the area. It is a huge campus. It has dental college and also have para medical course in these college. It has very large general hospital building. In which a lot of people of North Bengal use to come every day. The main building include emergency, outdoor services, physiotherapy centre etc. It has one state Bank ATM inside the campus. And just outside 2nd gate you get 2 ATMs. It also have one large play ground in which sometimes you can also get a look of the great Kanchanjangha.

It is a very beautiful campus. Weather is almost good through the whole year. Every year generally in the month of September the cultural fest plasma happened. It is a very enjoyable movement for the whole campus. And for the reunion programme NOSTALGIA conducted every year in college in month of November. If you able get a chance to visit NBMC.
